Bell, Ali and Root will all score decent runs but when you're 0/2 after 3 balls, most teams will struggle to post a good score. And an England side will struggle more than most.

Anyone see the Lalor catch in the Big Bash last night? Lots of debate over here for what the rule actually is.

TL;DR

Cam White smacks a spinner to the boundary, Lalor jumps in the air from within the field of play, taps the ball up into the air, jumps out of bounds, jumps back in the air, touches the ball without having re-established his position in the field of play but while in the air, and completes the catch within the field of play.

I assumed it wasn't out either, but it was eventually given.

Only going off your description it really seems like it should be not out.

Yeah, they changed it. You used to be able to do that, then they stopped it and you had to complete the entire catch in the field of play. Now it's back to being out as long as you aren't in possession of the ball when actually touching anything out of bounds and you complete it inbounds. I don't think there is anything about reestablishing inbounds before catching.

Boult got a really good one in WI.

It wasn't out IMO.

Considering in rugby league if you jump from being out of the field and hit the ball back into play you would still be regarded as being "out of bounds" as it goes from where your foot was last. The same applies to the Lalor incident last night.

---------------

Davey Warner getting stuck into the Indian batsmen again!

Not much to it from Davey's end - now it is Watson's turn!

holy Konami code at AB de Villiers

Smashed fastest ever ODI ton, just 31 balls, destroyed previous record of 36 balls

absurd hitting and still going

Amla already was on 114* himself when AB came in, and he's almost caught up with Amla in just 8.3 overs

AB Devilliers is not human. By far the best in the world there's no doubt.

Got out in the end, to not embarrass Amla by crossing him.
NICE GUY AB.

In other news, for all the talk about indian tracks, Wanderers with the altitude and conditions combined is the best batting paradise there is. Bangalore is probably second.

Damn, that must have been some hitting. I watched the Corey Anderson 36 ball century in real time, but to do it five balls quicker is insane.

A single instead of holing out and he would have beaten the record for the fastest ODI 150 by 39 balls

Could be a good finish, NZ need 77 off 60, williamson and anderson at the wicket, 6 in hand.

Agreed, especially with Ross in a bit of a slump

Im wagering Ross will be our top runscorer at the tourney... hes timing a run imo

I hope his mentor Marty Crowe can live long enough to see him get a ton in one of the semis or final

England crush in a 50 over game?

Steve Finn bowls you out?

Ian Bells anchors a chase with a 100+ strike rate?
