Hussain always looked miserable. He was worse than Atherton who did quite well with a mediocre bunch of players.

So true. I have no idea why we suddenly have such a great crop of fast bowlers. So much of that must just be down to chance.

However we did use to waste an extraordinary amount of talent with poor selection/management decisions and that seems to have stopped.

Once this test is over, if any of the Saffers have been any good do we get to have them in the England side for the next test or is it polite to wait for the end of the series?

Not looking like it will be an issue

Should be a good series, SA haven't lost an away series since 2006, and last time England lost at home was to SA.

SA should declare fairly soon, they are in no danger of losing the test match. May as well give themselves as much time as possible to try and bowl England out. All the pressure is on England.

Congrats to Amla. First time I've watched someone make a triple hundred. So badly want to see an Englishman do it.

Great little spell from Morkel to remove KP. Nice bouncers to move him back in the crease then cleans him up with a straight one.

For the first time in forever, we're forecast to have blazing sunshine tomorrow. Yes, in England.

How is SA to win 1.75:1 even after Bell is gone.

England were awful. Dale Steyn is confirmed the nuts remember when he played for my team Warwickshire such a good bowler.

I'm so conditioned for England to crush I actually still thought we had a chance with Anderson in to bat. Wish wish wish this was a 5 match series..............

All this talk about it being a thrashing, we took two wickets ya know. Could have been worse.

Why ? England lost 3-0 to Pakistan and lost a test in Sri Lanka. I can't think of a time when we were actually better than South Africa since Graeme Smith has been in the SA side. The other thing I don't understand is why Graeme Smith is taking flak for his batting. He averages 50 at a SR of 60.

Apparently this is the worst defeat in test history.

Last 10 tests or so suggest that England aren't much good tbh. Confirms the belief that England's batting line up is hugely overrated and will crumble against good bowling. Their bowling attack is still excellent but didn't have much to work on that pitch. Pitches like that aren't great for test cricket imo.

I'd guess that it's because he is very boring to watch - I don't even think the South Africans like him very much
