Yes, but I dont post there much anymore because

1) The vast majority of posters in the subjects I like to talk about (footy, cricket and soccer/football) are full of childish idiots more concerned about who is posting compared to what they are posting about and
2) The poker section pretty much completely died, and I cant be bothered asking questions to open space...

I started following cricket and I can tell you that once Sachin got out, the rest of the team stopped believing they can win and usually collapsed. That alone put unbelievable pressure on him each time. Add to the fact that he was unreal expectations from the Indian fans everytime he bats. I don't think any cricket player ever faced as much pressure as Sachin which makes what he accomplished that much more amazing.
this pretty much just happened in bangalore, after sachin got out for 220 odd the last 5 wickets fell for 9 runs. as far at the pressure and atmosphere sachin has played under for the last 20 years, shane warne puts it quite well in explaining how sachin is the best he has played against.

"Australia have dropped to fifth place in the ICC Test rankings following their 2-0 series defeat in India and are placed below England for the first time since the rankings were introduced in 2003."

Didn't Oz used to be good at cricket, or am I thinking of some other sport? Ah, Aussie rules football. That must be it. That's the game Oz are good at.

The test championship is a good idea but I don't like reducing the WC to 10 teams. Part of the attraction of the WC is seeing the Associate teams that you don't otherwise get to see. I don't like every T20 tournament being expanded either. I know that it's a money motivated move but I'm starting to find it a bit boring now.

yes again the australian spinners were wicketless and expensive. I hope hauritz manages to pick up a few wickets before the end of the tour because it would be a shame if he didn;t make the australia team for the ashes( for england that is).

I dunno the closer we get to the ashes the more confident i get about englands chances, 3 months ago i thought we'd lose 4-1, then 3-1, now i;m really not sure. Anyway lets hope for a competitive series.

One day cricket has changed so much in the last decade. I remember like 10 years ago when you used to make 250 and be a lock to win, now when Aussies make 290 I'm like our bowlers did ok and it's a comfortable chase alot of the time.

Pitches started becoming super flat around 2000. Applies to all forms of cricket. Teams understand ODI strategy waybetter. Guys like Moody have pretty much solved the strategic element of the OD game. India has very flat tracks too. YOu still see people defending 250 in NZ, ENG, WI, SL

NZ is a bad example. We played three matches vs them a few years ago, and two of them NZ chased down 350+

Plus there is so much cricket that bowlers get rested more than batters. I mean, for a nation with quicks like Tait, Nannes, Johnson, Bollinger and Harris the Aussie bowling line up against India (with none of those playing) was painfully soft.

You mean, you win the odd football game, games that no other nations play, and a few girls' sports? All hail the Aussie sporting machine!

england arrived in australia today. exciting times.

also expect soon the icc to come back with the news that butt and amir have had their suspensions overturned and are free to return to cricket. I doubt anyone in world cricket believes they are innocent, and any time any team comes up against pakistan there is always going to be doubt in the players mind and playing pakistan is always going to be looked at as a chore and not something to take real satisfaction from, and that is a shame.

or not. tbh i thought the hearing would be determining their sentence and not just deciding whether the suspensions were valid. The icc has to move faster though because having the whole thing up in the air isn't doing anyone any favours.

australia getting another thrashing today, at home, against sri lanka. And i thought it would be a competitive ashes series this winter but obviously not. j/k
