Gawd just saw todays highlights, gg India 80 runs for last 2 wickets.
More bad umpiring although I think more decisions went our way than India's overall, so tilted off that last chance, they didn't show a hotspot but I didn't see any bat on it and then to miss the runout raaaaahhhhhhhhh

Watson has been really great to watch this series, solid batting again from Ponting, very unlucky to be given out, can't find a pic of it online but hawkeye showed it just nicking top corner of stumps.
With a solid start from North and Paine in the morning followed by Johnson hitting some 6's and I'll be pretty happy.
Never seen this Peter George bloke play before, should be interesting.

Oh and another thing, India love to have the silly mid fielder in place but he never does anything other than jump out of the way.
Possibly makes the batsmen change their tactics?
Seems ok against tail enders but not opening batsmen, your thoughts?

Its all about the batsmans mindset imo, there thought process is that its more about getting the batsman to change his style and open the blade up more.

Having someone under your eyes in that sort of positions makes you 2nd guess yourself. Sure your not going to get caught there often but how many times do you see people get caught in the slips because they are trying to change there stroke due to that possie

Oh and had my first game of the season yesterday (first as captain as well) and we failed bad. One day game and only made 103 (15no for me batted 6 instead of normal 3) and they made em pretty easy (2/10 of 7 for me) Anyone here play in Melbourne and found the fields to be dam slow?

I've never even set foot in Vic or NSW heh, half QL/WA born and bred.
And only play indoor cricket, and we normally take an esky of VB to sip while waiting to play so yeh, not too serious.

Wow, Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab ejected from IPL. Not really sure why
http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/content/c...ry/480748.html

That's pretty bad, no more gratuitous screen shots of Shilpa Shetty or Preity Zinta

Also, grats to Sachin on reaching the 14000 run mark, and also 1000 runs so far in 2010. Awesome.

So I guess with the demise of Rajasthan that's probably gg Warnie. He hasn't played Test cricket for nearly 4 years now, and he's probably still the best spin bowler in the world.

I don't know how "final" this decision is, I have a feeling they'll be allowed back in once they cut all ties to Modi. Lets see what happens.

Graeme Smith not captaining the South Africa team?

When did that change?

Also, I love watching cricket broadcasts from places like S Africa and Australia – so much talent in the crowds that always seem to catch the wandering eyes of the cameramen

Never see bikini clad babes at cricket in England

The world cup in the West Indies was also great for such viewing. All of them meeting in one hot hot place .

This IPL thing is pretty unbelievable. Owners put up what was it, 100+ mil for these franchises, which had no book value other than being part of the league, and then the BCCI just goes up kicks them out. This is not great for the other owners or the TV people, let's not even speak to the fact that there actually are fans of these franchises since they'd be about 20th in line in terms of priority for anyway. Kind of hard to understand what exactly they did wrong, sounds like they pretty much violated some type of weird legal technicality, then transferred ownership behind the league's back.

Hard to see which side is in the right here. On one side we have tax evaders, bollywood actors, and corrupt businessmen, on the other side we have the BCCI.

Anyone here this rubbish bout the little master being compared to Bradman? The guy has made a packet of runs and is a great talent but its nothing compared to a 99.94 average on uncovered wickets
Cricket: Random Discussion Thread Quote

I mean Tendulkr's probably the second best batsman in history, and Bradman himself complimented Sachin and said he played very similar to him when he was alive. So there are obviously going to be comparisons but they played in two totally different eras.

Sachin has access to much better equipment/conditions and Bradman played against easier competition since we have no way to accurately weigh these factors we go with stats. They favour BRadman so heavily that it makes any comparisons futile and make him not only the best batsman but probably the best sportsman of the last century.

Only a moron would suggest Sachin's better but that doesn't mean people won't compare. He also has a 100+ avg. this year so that's probably what brought it on.

Someone would probably have to average 75+ for 40+ tests before we can even suggest he could be better. With varying conditions and bowling attacks round the world and people having access to all kinds of statistics and pitch maps to pin point your weakness I don't know if it's even possible in modern cricket. Unless the player happens to play a bunch of matches against Bangladesh.

All the t20 and one day matches that fill up the calendar such that there is no offseason for cricketer anymore don't help either.

#49 and 14000 runs at an avg of 56.5. #95 overall. Lara and Pointing can no longer be compared to Sachin
