Malinga can only bowl 4 overs. Somerset still well in the game

Malinga and Gayle are the best t20 players in the world.. Sick Value for money in the amount of games they can win singlehandedly..

I thought about this strat too for a second, but Malinga never misses the stumps so tough to get a bye..

One thing I do like about t20 is that it's a format conjucive to the underdog upsets..

Dhoni did it with a starless Indian squad in 2003.
Warne did it with Royals in the first IPl with a team that was supposed to be bottom of the table.
Mumbai doing it this year missing half thier squad (only star performer for them is Malinga)..

I'm sure examples like this exist in non indian leagues as well.

Just shows how far you can go in t20 if you have a decent, united squad with every player contributing a bit..

That's why I think the minnows should take part in t20 world cups instead, they'll have a genuine chance of a few upsets, and might even make an odd semi or final.

Agent on trial for match fixing claims it's gone on for years — names Waqar, Wasim, Moin Khan, Ijaz Ahmed.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15247144

Report also includes claims of Aussies being big into match fixing, though offers virtually no further details on this.

Summary of Sky Sports statistician's evidence
http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan...ry/535910.html

"Million-to-one" coincidence that the balls mentioned would be no-balls, 1.5 million to one for these two bowlers. Also reports that although, as a team, Pakistan bowl 23% more no balls than any other country, but Asif's no-ball count is remarkably low.

stats are pretty damning.

don't racist ban me but if it wasn't for the forced tours program I doubt anyone would bother touring Pakistan or the UAE or wherever they are hosting their games.

Yeah I don't think many people look forward to touring Pakistan tbh. I feel really sorry for their fans for having to put up with such bull****. I mean, what other country in the world would appoint someone like Salman Butt in any role?

Re Wasim and match-fixing. I have vague-ish memories years ago of reading about an investigation into him. Apparently he has much more wealth than he could account for and the judge pretty much admitted that he only let him off (with a light suspension?) as he was a hero to so many people.

In other news, Johnny Bairstow is smacking it all over for England in their warm-up match. Look out for this kid, he's the real deal!

Love the crowd noise in an indian match, after the deafening silence that accompanied all the clt20 encounters..

Such a shame that it is only a two Test series between Aus and SA, Who the hell had that idea?

2 test series is pretty much pointless, might as well have a single test..

Seriously, looking at the schedule for the future tours program is mega-tilting, particularly when you get to sept/oct next year. It's gonna be six weeks solid of slog-and-run, with another meaningless T20 world cup, followed immediately by the soi-disant "champions" league, which was even more ******ed than usual this year considering not a single one of the four semi-finalists were champions of anything at all, and the eventual winners didn't even make the final of their own domestic competition.

Yawn.

Bring back cricket imo.

England seriously need to go back to the drawing board with their wicketkeeper strategy. Kieswetter has been piss poor all series.

I don't know why Prior doesn't play.

Prior for some reason hasn't cut it for Eng in ODI's.

Morgan can keep wicket, Bairstow is a keeper and Davis from Surrey is a promising keeper.

India have trounced us in this series.

Seriously impressive stuff from Dhoni.

Edit- one thing I have found strange is how the grounds are always empty at the start...

Only because they insist on sticking him at the top of the order. England have this ridiculous thing that the keeper has to open - it's bollocks. Just because Adam Gilchrist did it doesn't mean every keeper has to. Gilchrist was an exception, a once-in-a-generation player. England just need to open with two batsmen.

Also, I still have serious doubts about Cook captaining. Things happen to him, when he should be the one making things happen.

No idea why there is such a disjoint between their Test ability and ODI ability.

Same could be said of a couple of other teams though, except the other way round.
