Yeah, Sehwag has a better overall Test record as an opener, but anyone in their right mind would still take Strauss in the England team for next week's Test, not least for what he brings as England captain. A few extra runs from Sehwag wouldn't offset that, not to mention Sehwag's appalling attitude in the field.
Opening with Strauss and Cook, and assuming Trott coming back in at 3, the combo England team would slot Sachin in at 4, move KP to 5, move Bell to 6, then Prior and the England bowlers as usual from 7 and downwards. If no Trott then Dravid gets in at 3.
