As long as the weather holds there has to be a real chance of a 4-0 series whitewash here. Someone on betfair got that at 100, only £4 on it though.

Meanwhile, Watto giving it some humpty at the top of the Aussie innings, as per usual, 26 off 22 balls, couple of huge sixes

Lakmal putting in a solid contender for easiest droppped catch of the year lol

Droppig Watson is never smart, and when he's 46 off 35 it's even dumber

Dunno if anyone else saw it, but that hawkeye graphic comparing England's lengths in the morning and afternoon session is not only revealing of why we went for more runs between lunch and tea, but it also really shows how useful a tool it is for all sorts of analysis of your performance.

Most bowlers round the world barring a few (Malinga) are awful bowling to the tail. Ive no idea why you HAVE to spread the field to the batsman regardless of what form hes in if there is a tailender with him. They helped Dhoni out..

The ball from Bresnan that got Dravid would get anybody in the world out. Ive no idea why they then choose to try to bounce someone who's 6"5' on a dead pitch.

That said theres gonna be a result this match so 3-0 is on the cards. I just hope England have to make 300 in the last innings to get there so we have a contest atleast.

has india ever done worse than this on an international test series in the last 50 years?

I wonder what odds one would have got for betting on india not reaching 300 runs in a single innings in this series

Definately not in the last decade.

Before that yea, we were awful away from home before that..

Of course it's always nice to see England winning, but the victories so far have been so facile. I was really looking forward to an exciting, tense and competitive series between two excellent teams, but with this Test looking like going the same way as the first two, the one-sided nature of it all is more disappointing than anything else.

Is this Indian touring team the worst ever to be officially ranked #1?

Inevitable 550-4 declaration + India collapsing on day 4.

This is a good Indian team. Combination of injuries (Pujara, Sehwag, Zaheer), poor preparation, poor selection (Sreesanth and Raina, no Badrinath). It also doesn't help that Stuart Broad is bowling like Malcolm Marshall.

Yeah, an absolute sitter. Nice slow regulation off-spin of Suresh Raina, and it looped gently off Morgan's outside edge straight at Dravid, right in front of him, at first slip. It's actually rather sad

how long do england bat tomorrow? personally i'd like them to bat until about 40 minutes or so after tea. rack up 740 or something and let cook get his treble hundred(probably won't be enough time for him to break lara's record, ok won't b enough time). even saying that the wicket isn't that easy to play, and if mishra has good fields i can see him picking up 6 or 7 wickets but it won't matter because england are so far ahead

fwiw at the time i thought england made a pretty big mistake at the toss by bowling. edgbaston in particular this season is 100% a bat first wicket given the wicket detioriates from the first day and the conditions were by no means bad for batting on day 1. as it happens it won't matter because india have been so woeful.

the pivotal moment of the match was those 3 wickets before lunch on the first day. upto that point gamhbhir and dravid had looked solid and good and there wasn't much in the pitch for the bowlers and the overhead conditions weren't bad for batting. if india had got 400 the wicket wasn't particularly easy 2 play today and england may well have struggled(especially with bops and morgan in the middle order, and an outof form strauss and cook) and having to bat last on a turning wicket. - but maybe that is giving india too much credit given the way they've played

No need to bat twice. If we can get to 700 we should achieve that comfortably.

Pretty sad that the most interesting part of the match are potential milestones/records. Would love to see Cook make a huge score (if anything because I talked him up earlier ITT and he has done nothing since).
