For general Cricket discussion, saves new threads being started sporadically.

For people who know nothing about the sport, here is a great selection of addictive games.

p.s. England are currently the world champions (of T20).

It is a dull Summer. More than made up for by an Ashes Winter though. Xmas Day night at the MCG. Can't beat it.

Totally. It's the best thing about Christmas day, when the cricket starts at midnight and all family stuff has long ended.

Anyone watching WI v SA? I have bet WI and they are in slightly better shape than start of match, but they always lose. Sadly it was all that was on TV.

If Bangladesh get their act together fielding and bowling, they will be a dangerous out-fit in the future. They don't half give it some willow with the bat.

Mortaza always looked good for them when I watched them play, also they have a decent array of slow bowlers. Fielding and discipline is an issue, but they are a team on the rise IMO, even after Bashir moves on...

Looking forward to the next Australian summer, but this gap between the world 20/20 and the next matches is killing me.

Also, lol at Wright breaking his bat in the Pommy domestic 20/20 a few days ago. We have had a few games on Foxtel in Australia, and being the nightowl that I am, its better then the Home Shopping ads...

What a shambles they are?!

Bangladesh are going backwards, back in batting following-on again after being 100 odd for no-wicket, then all out for 216.

They are already 2 wickets down in their second innings edit: make that 3 down.

lots of cricket going on around the world obviously been overshadowed by football wc.
west indies they're normal terrible self against sa in current test match. shooting themselves in the foot by dropping a load of catches on a road like wicket.
asia cup going on currently - another pointless one day series.
domestic 20:20 in england for 2 straights months of pointless rubbish.
england play scotland tom, and then a number of odi v australia so more pointless cricket

England win the opening fixture of one day series vs Aus.

Morgan (103 from 85, 16x4) with a great knock, really important to our one day side now. I remember on his debut, Nasser Hussain described him as a "nudger and nurdler" i thought ffs, get rid of him fast. Thankfully Nas was wrongly informed.

SA beat WI in their test series.

fwiw a few twitters.

australia getting desperate. 2-0 down and bringing tait out of retirement. like the last ashes, this is just two average teams quite evenly matched imo

level?

I agree Aus are a long way from their peak of the last 10 yrs, but England are far from average in the short form atm and will be one of the top seeds for the world cup next year if form over the last 6-12 months continues

ill agree that england have improved out of all recognition since flower took over but are still an average team and it is more the deterioation in quality of other teams rather than this been a very good english team. I will concede though that on current form we do currently have a decent outside chance of winning the wc but lets not forget that it was only last year we lost 6-1 to australia at home in one dayers. A couple of injuries to broad and morgan and we'll look very average again.

I take your point, and guess that any argument is more semantics than anything else. I think we're currently above average (top order well above imo) but nowhere near a great team

I think this series right now has two of the top three teams and maybe one and two...maybe not top favorites to win the WC in the subcontinent though.
