He has mankaded a Sri Lankan batsman in 2012 too.

At that time, he gave a warning too but later was forced to withdraw appeal thanks to Sachin and Sehwag

Sam Curran’s value just went way up.
4 wickets in 5 balls, including knocking off the last 3 wickets with a hat trick.

Was that the game where whoever was chasing needed basically a run a ball with 21 balls left and got bowled out 14 short?

Yeah, they needed 23 from 21 with 7 wickets left and lost those 7 wickets for 8 runs.

KKR needed 67 off of 4.2 overs. Andre Russell got it done with five balls to spare.

I must be missing the point unless it's Hameed suddenly remembering how to bat

I'm looking into purchasing an old copy of a Wisden almanac as a gift for my dad. His family moved from England to the states in 1966.

Question: was there a particularly significant/interesting year in cricket history from the early-to-mid '60s?

Not the best person to ask, but maybe '68 to cover the D'Oliveira affair?

The summer of 1966 was quite special. While England were winning the football World Cup, Sir Garfield Sobers was tearing England a new one in the test series.

Quote:
He enjoyed spectacular success in England in 1966 and was widely acclaimed as "King Cricket". In the five Tests he scored 722 runs at an average of 103.14 with three centuries, and had 20 wickets at 27.25, as well as taking 10 catches. West Indies won the series 3–1, with one match drawn. His status was celebrated at that time by the Trinidadian calypso artist Mighty Sparrow, with his song "Sir Garfield Sobers".

Australian World Cup squad announced today.

Warner and Smith both in. Among those to miss out Handscomb, Josh Hazlewood and Ashton Turner.

Likely XI

Finch
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Maxwell
Stoinis
Carey
Cummins
Starc
Jhye Richardson
Zampa

Reserves
Shaun Marsh
Nathan Lyon
Nathan Coulter-Nile
Behrendorff

A decent amount of flexibility in the side depending on what kind of bowlers they want to bowl with. Behrendorff is a throwback to someone who can just bowl out to start an innings, and personally think he should get a go above Richardson, but also think they will just say "herp derp, can't have two left arm quicks" and go with Richardson instead.

That's a good call. But also the WI 1963 tour - first post independence - seems to have been a great series.

Interesting how obviously rigged the IPL is. Absolute shocker of a non wide call in the final over to pollard

How the F do you watch the world cup in the US? Last WC was pretty sweet with ESPN streaming package. I don't see a similar option this year.
