This will most likely be the hardest fight Floyd's ever had, and the most entertaining.

Do not bet your life on Floyd here, and definitely do not bet on him KO'ing Conor within 6.

I hope one day you aren't in an accident that denies you the ability to walk. I wouldn't want to dare bring up this post after doctors told you there would be no chance you ever walk again.

Extremely dangerous! Very high risks of making 100 million dollars to be hit in the face, which has never happened to him before!

Humanity has always been like this. A smaller % of the population has always been right over the majority.

If he got legit caught with a power punch is the only thing I can think of. That's kind of like saying I could homer off of a Verlander curve ball. Theoretically it could happen, but lol.

Conor doesn't understand what he's facing. Have you ever been "good" at something and then faced someone who is masterful at it? Whether that's math or golf, it's a humbling experience, and in this case Conor has only ever faced a challenge like this in his own discipline, once, and it wasn't on the same scale.

This isn't a question of physical ability, it's about skill. Just as Tom Brady doesn't have the strongest arm or the fastest feet, he's the best QB we've ever seen. Conor is younger and stronger, but he's not faster or smarter. Floyd has destroyed people who've had both advantages over him. No one would doubt Canello was younger and stronger than him and he still whipped his ass. Make no mistake, Conor would get annihilated by Canello right now, and Floyd beat him easily.

Ehh. It's showtime soon. Let's see what happens.

You are correct about all of this but the one wild card is the age thing and coming out of retirement after two years off. I don't think you can compare comebacks at an earlier age to coming back past after the age of 40. We can find examples in many sports where athletes started to significantly fall off in skill around this age. Especially when much of their skill relied on their athleticism; agility and speed.

It's still probably nowhere near the decrease in skill to somehow put Connor at the current odds but it's still an unknown factor in this fight.

I think everyone just hates Mayweather/the way he boxes and are tricking themselves into cognitive dissonance and betting on McGregor.

It seems like Mayweather's win equity should be something like 99%.

I have a lot of money on mayweather, but mayweather's age is the one thing that has me the most concerned, even more so than the fight being rigged. the dropoff a that age happens fast I remember seeing Peyton manning go from 50+ TD and having one of the greatest seasons ever to falling completely off the cliff in two years. And he doesn't even rely on athleticism.

Physical decline is almost completely linear. So Mayweather's decline in the last year will be roughly the same as his decline aged 29-30.

Athletes "dropping off" is more likely either lazy journalism/fan assessment, or a lack of motivation from the athlete to commit to the same training as they get older (family commitments, etc). Injuries can also be a factor, but again this is probably related to a lack of motivation from the athlete to recover at what they perceive to be the winter of their career.

I don't see any of these factors affecting Floyd.

It also seems like it's very sudden in things like team sports because of the distribution of talent. Best player in the league -> Best player in the league but by half as much -> top 5 player -> top 50 player -> awful/should retire, is probably 4 declines all by roughly the same amount.
