After watching Connor spar that SA boxer and look so lolish barely a year ago , yeah he has no chance. It must be frustrating though knowing he could literally murder the guy in less than 30 seconds if only these pesky boxing rules didn't apply.

Btw why do casual boxing fans keep buying PPV's involving Mayweather? He's not exactly the most likable guy, he beats up women, he's boring af for the casual fan... are they all hoping this next fight just might be the one he loses?

This just in: people like hanging out with other people during culturally relevant events

And the all blacks would kill the partiots in rugby. So the **** what? It's a boxing match and Macgregor won't last as long as Flores against Rigondeaux unless Floyd wants him to.

Lol. MMA has had the upper hand on boxing for at least 10 years . Go to a sports bar and ask people to name current boxer stuff and current MMA fighters. Most sports fans cannot name 5 active boxers .Boxing gets popular 1 night every 3 years.

They're both niche sports in the U.S. The average person you ask in a sports bar won'tbe able to name 5 mma fighters either.

This is dumb, they will be able to name more boxers than MMA fighters that's for sure.

How popular is FM in the US? I mean on top of being a raging douchebag and a woman beater he's probably the most boring top boxer to watch in history. People were complaining about the death of the HW decision in the Klitschko era but he makes them look like Cirque du Soleil. Yet someone who last KO'ed an opponent (that wasn't talking to the ref at the time) during the Bush administration has constantly had far better PPV numbers. So what's his appeal?

EDIT : I was just thinking, did FM increase the female audience numbers in boxing? I remember a post on here after May v Pac about the poster's female friend not wanting to watch it but after the fight she commented how she could watch it from now on and how she had previously thought boxing was a violent sport. And on a side note, how the **** did FM manage not to win dancing with the stars?

~70% buy to see him get beat, the rest will buy every ppv featuring any 2 bums (diehards).

Because boxing lacks one unified governing body that's taking 80% of the fighters money?

In boxing that kind of thing would be illegal, but it's ok in MMA

Casuals can't really name MMA fighters anymore. I'm not sure how many I can even name. Anecdotally, it feels like MMA popularity has fallen off a ton from the Chuck Liddell days.

Both sports are driven by stars. Every UFC PPV that doesn't have CM/Honda/JBJ on it does 300k or less. Same is true of boxing PPVs not featuring Floyd or Canelo.

buying the PPV cause I like to support Mcgregor. Didn't pay for Floyd V Pac watched it at a friends house so I'm fine with it.

Most people know Floyd but he doesn't get casuals to tune in. Ronda Rousey is probably the biggest draw to casuals of any current fighter.

Sry if there's an obvious answer to this, but when are tickets expected to go on sale for this to the gen public? (If any seats are actually sold to the gen public, that is)?

There are re-sale sites that are selling "tickets" to it right now, but they're of the shady "buy now, and we promise we'll acquire a ticket for you, but if we don't we won't charge you" variety.

I want to know when official tix from the venue or main ticket seller (Ticketmaster?) will be made avail to the public (if at all)?

I'll prob plop a ton down on Floyd when I'm in vegas for wsop in a couple weeks.

I've actually never made a wager that didn't settle prior to my departure from vegas. I guess if I win I would just mail the winning ticket back to the casino? That's a bit disconcerting but I suppose I could always fly back and cash it too.
