Paulie would be 6 feet under if that shot landed with 4oz gloves and no protective headgear. No wonder he remembers it all wrong.

So turns out Paulie may have just been bitter with a bruised ego/concussion and all his tweets/talk might not have been true?? RITS will be so hurt.

everyone realizes paulie got knocked out by british level boxer sam eggington in his last fight right

that being said conor and dana white riling up paulie is hilarious to me. i like paulie as an announcer and he was a slick fighter once upon a time but goddamn he is annoying on twitter and he is proud. he has to be fuming and flipping ****

not at all, you could see in that video Paulie was slightly pushed and they cut the video right away, when Joe Cortez was supposedly saying no knockdown. And apparently those were rds 11 and 12 where Paulie said Conor got the best out of him because he was tired. They sparred for 60 minutes, that's it out of 20 rds? A flush straight left and and a slightly push against a fat Paulie? If anything it's good because Floyd's odds might go up a bit, but that footage is nothing special and if they released this, they could've added 30s more making Conor look good.

from memory the 'knockdown' is round 7. paulie said it came at a time when conor was getting totally lit up and that he threw paulie to the ground in frustration. obviously we are seeing next to nothing but that seems an unfair description (even though it's not a knockdown)

oh yeah, Paulie said he would've admitted that was a knockdown if it was true, just like he admitted Conor got the best out of him in rds 11 and 12.

God damn when Conor hits Paulie with that left.He took that punch like a boss though, holy ****.

Conor has to be careful with those rabbit punches. Floyd is the master of making this the only punch you can throw when he has you in the clinch. Ref gonna be all over him.

Just so it's clear, Headgear does not lessen concussive damage from punches in any meaningful way, it just protects against cuts.

It's one of the reasons it was so dumb for the Olympics to get rid of it in 2016. Hey guys, let's hold a 1 week boxing tournament where a decent sized cut can end your run and then take away headgear...

It actually makes you easier to hit because your movement is reduced and you are a wider target. Not really relevant though as he hit Paulie flush on the face and didn't wobble him.

I'd be curious as to how Cortez scored it but they cut the clip before we can see more. Paulie's legs are clearly buckling and Conor is pushing him down with his left hand prior to throwing the lead right (Conor was standing orthodox at that point) uppercut. The uppercut hits Paulie but by then he's already falling.

Cortez says "whoa" and the clip stops but I wonder if he gave Paulie a count and/or some time like he would for a KD or just dusted his gloves and got them back at it.

first thought was "daaaamn"...second thought was, "if that didn't knock him down, he's in a lot of trouble bc he's never landing that against PBF..."

Floyd is a master of clinching(hugging) & making the ref break the action, Conor is a grappler from mma & Floyd ain't doing that vs him + Kenny Bayless isn't going to be ref in this contest as confirmed by Mcgregor's team. The ref actually maybe one who does both mma & boxing, not confirmed but possible, if so then all those quick breaks by bias Kenny Bayless that you normally see won't be there.

I feel like that knockdown is a combination of a punch landing and bad balance. Wasn't much damage but that should be scored as a knockdown.

Only way to win is to try to do what Maidana in their first fight and throw 100 punches per round hoping that the output looks impressive enough to take rounds even if most of it misses

Conor will be dead tired by round 5 if he tries that.

A novice boxer throwing 100 punches a round against the GOAT counterpuncher? What could possibly go wrong?

It's his only shot. We watched him land a loaded up, straight power shot on a fighter who's been knocked down recently and he didn't have much of an effect.

Conor's best result is to land a few, have everyone suck him off for doing better than they expected, and then go out on his shield.

Mariana got a MD loss with his punches in bunches strategy. He landed enough shots to occasionally look impressive enough to win.

My favorite argument for Conor so far is that somehow he's going to come at Mayweather with angles Floyd has never seen.

Jesus Christ that is ******ed.

If i had 20 million in the bank. I would drop about 5 million on Floyd at -500. Just assuming i have a nice house, nice car, all my **** is together and i have an extra 20 million of spending money in the bank.

This is the easiest bet ever. I think Vegas is going to get killed on this fight.
