There was this absolutely incredible one that is not out there unfortunately. Lou tells a story from his youth about swimming across the Ohio River with his crew. One dude was scared. Said he couldn't swim. Lou says he'll save him if he starts drowning. Anyway, dude runs into trouble and Lou doesn't help because he's afraid of drowning himself. My friends and I were in college at the time watching this live stoned to the bone. We all could not believe this pep talk. It was about the dumbest thing anyone had ever said and it was broadcast on live television.
I did find a 1976 NYT article that alludes to the story, but it's not the full, idiotic version Lou told on tv.
