If you don't listen to the Herd daily, then that's a YOU problem

Post lines from the show...

All of these Cowboy fans wanna lock T.O. up for the long term. Listen fans -"date the stripper, don't marry her."
You want him around for a couple of years so he can do his thing, but don't fall in live with him because, in the
long run, he is a disaster.

Too often in life we spend too much time trying to convince people rather than just ask. You gotta know what the difference is.
In basketball you just ask the guy to shoot, but you gotta convince them to play defense. Just ask the girl out, don't convince her.

If money can't buy happiness then it makes a heck of a down payment

Life is all about how you react to certain situations. Like what if you have the neighbor who likes to go outside at 3 in the morning wearing a speedo and a cowboy hat and occassionallydresses like a pirate? You can either move or build a fence.

People keep talking about Matt Leinart, Barry Bonds, and Carmelo Anthony catching so much heat but yet other people seem to
get a pass when it comes to media scrutiny. It's all about building points. If you're good to the media and are accessible to them, then when you screw up every once in a while they will give you a pass. Just like when you buy your wife flowers and other things. It's not to get something from them now,
it's to get a pass for the Saturday night when you don't call but come home at 3 am with a lampshade on your head.

Bobby Knight is so out of touch with reality, I can't even explain it. He thinks it's foolish for these college coaches to recruit these "one and done" players because you can't win long term doing it that way and it's no way to build a team because they are out of there after just one year. That's about like walking into a bar and the hottest girl in there, I mean a 10, wants to go home with you and you say, "unless we're talking long term relationship here, then I'm not interested."

I think the OP is lame, but I'm surprised at the hate in this thread. He's pretty good for a radio sports talk guy, way above average.

That's like saying Mussolini was way above average for a WWII-era dictator.

Once a week when I'm stuck out of town with nothing to do, I'll listen to him. I don't mind him at all. He's got some pretty funny shtick. I can't imagine what it would be like trying to fill 2-3 hours every day with sports talk that people will listen to.

Yeah, and I don't get the hate either. Maybe he says bad things about your favorite players or something.

I'm a Cowherd fan, but haven't heard him in the last few days. How did he do in the batting cage?

Was going to post this. Since I live in Canada I don't listen to him that much, but I listened to him on XM he seemed decent, but there were bits of stupidity sprinkled in like saying he could survive three rounds with a stickweight boxer and it seems like his shtick would get very old.

Still surprised. I can only assume everyone who says he sucks basically doesn't like any sports talk radio host? I'm thinking of the guys I hear in the car and he's by far the least offensive.

I can't stand these types of radio guys-

1- Guys who talk tough and make fun of all kinds of guys until they get them on the show then they are so far up their ass the interview is horrible.

2- Guys who talk crap about guys who won't come on their shows and worship blindly anyone who does.

3- Guys who make assanine crazy predictions on the chance that 1 in 100 is correct and they can brag about how smart they are, conveniently forgetting the other 99 times.

Cowherd is an easy 1 and pulls in some parts of 2 and 3.

Being the least smelly poop in the toilet ain't a claim to listenability.

Well, that answers that question! I do wonder why these people who obviously hate these radio guys so passionately are able to give such a detailed critique of their style.

So you guys think all sportscasters on the radio suck a lot, yet you obviously spend quite a bit of time listening. I would like to think I'd cut back on any activity I despised so much.

CC is all about making outlandish statements(like most) to attract an audience. He's very good at it.

If you talked to him in person about a topic, a lot of the time his feeling could be quite different.

How does commenting you don't like a guy = listening to him regularly?

This guy is awful, he knows absolutely nothing about football yet makes sweeping, bold proclamations that never turn out to be true. He then fails to admit that he has ever been wrong.

Come to think of it, every single ESPN radio person I can think of is terrible.

Cowherd is awful.
He's constantly yelling over and interrupting guests and callers, usually just to repeat himself.

Its a long show Colin, can you let a guy make a statement for more than 5 seconds without interrupting? Theres still going to be plenty of time for you to hear yourself talk later.

This is probably it. Can't speak for anyone else but the whole talk radio schtick/persona is awful. I never listen but stuff gets posted online somewhere and I'll listen/read; awful.

Also, isn't Cowherd the guy who stole the made-up Wonderlic from a blog, passed it off as his own, and was indignant when the blog asked to be credited with it (you know, like real journalists are supposed to do)? I think that was him. Not the Holocaust or anything but it was pretty obnoxious for a professional media person to steal and lie like that.
