Drive #3: No-huddle, drive ends in a fumble on the 4th play
Drive #4: Huddles on offense, one first down gained, punt on 4th and 15 after Vick showed Sanchize-esque accuracy
Drive #5: Huddles on offense, one first down gained, Chip incorrectly punts on 4th and 4
I'm not seeing any time before drive #5 when they took their foot off the gas, and I never got that vibe during the game either. People keep saying it, but it's not true. They had five drives, two of which ended in TDs/fumbles. The other three were punts, but the first two were correct (and caused by dumb penalties from their players), and the third punt was incorrect but done inside of 4:00 left when up 13. They also ran the no-huddle exclusively on each of the first three drives, and they only stopped doing it once the clock became a more important factor.
The truth is that the Eagles have a crappy defense, and Washington attacked it better (with RG3 and Co. playing better) in the second half. Chip only took his foot off the gas on drive #5, it just seems like more because they didn't score on their final four drives. That's not really Chip's fault, though, as much as it was just his mediocre players sucking on both offense and defense. Remember, this Eagles team isn't
good, they just appear more talented now that they have the GOAT.
