The fat one is never coming within a thousand miles of the The League so whatever his Starbury share of the billion is would be a rounding error.

Austin rivers Seth curry are NBA players. The nepotism is strong in the league.

They are both obv NBA players.

I guess we could say the jury is out in Seth if one wants to be super skeptical, but seems clear he deserves a roster spot on this point

Is this a joke? Seth has been unbelievable this year. He is miles better than Austin Rivers and will get a big pay day after next year. It's clear neither of you have seen Seth play this year. He is a legit starter or 6th/7th man.

I doubt he'd do it, but if we could lock him up at 4/36, I would do it. But I'm guessing he thinks that he will get more than that after next year if he plays as well or better next year.

I think he's obv an NBA player. I was granting that maybe someone disagrees on the basis that it's one season and Carlisle is an awesome coach

Yea, my comment was more directed at the post above yours.

I know his performance has been helped by Carlisle, but the level he has been playing at has been exceptional. Even if his performance goes down some with another coach, he'd still be a legit NBA player.

Daddy Ball should call up said UCLA person and give a "go play intramurals brother" response

@ Indiana and Alford:

"
They're going to continue to build it at UCLA, too, even if Alford returns to his Indiana Hoosier home. The Ball patriarch said he loves Alford, and Alford has thrown roses at the old man's feet, too. But as far as LiAngelo and LaMelo are concerned, LaVar said, "We're going to stick with UCLA even if you put Bobo the Clown in as coach."

I was in the middle of a lengthy post on why LaVar Ball is a complete clown who lives totally and completely vicariously through his children and has a mouth that constantly spews profoundly stupid ****, but accidentally exited the page.

In any case, this dude represents so much of what is wrong with sports. **** him.

eta: ftr, obv saying Lonzo>Curry is a ridiculous statement (in a vacuum), but that's a secondary point to this video imo
Oh, you wish to live vicariously through your children as well? I'm sure your kid will loooooove that. Get your own life.

Edit: I'm reminded of my youth, when I played in various basketball leagues and on my school's tennis team, watching some of these parents micromanage the hell out of their children, even going so far as to demand the coach give their kids more minutes, etc. The kids in question always looked completely miserable.

My own parents let me do my thing, supportive if I wanted to train hard, but also supportive if I just wanted to trot out there and be mediocre and have fun with it. This despite my father being my coach for a couple of those years. I think this is partially why I thoroughly enjoyed youth sports despite being a scrub.

lol

At what point does your son's desires matter? Maybe he wants to be an academic, or an artist. But nah, I'm sure he's gonna be super happy to have his father stuff him into a field in which he might have no interest.

**** it, I'm all in on Papa Ball, he has won me over.

"Usually a kid with that type of talent comes out of a lower-income neighborhood," LaVar said, "and then you put all this pressure on an 18-year-old kid to make it and get us out of there. But I don't need Lonzo to hurry up and move me out of Chino Hills. I'm not tired of all these hills and pools."

Damn. Project much? Lol

Ftr#1: your parents sound similar to the way my parents approached sports with me and I loved it as well.

Ftr#2: I don't want to be like Lavar Ball and don't care if my kids decide to pursue athletics further than I did, but I do know sports attributes can easily be transitioned to bigger and better character traits in life - and I'm a huge proponent of that.
Is it okay for me to take a little bit from Ball-Dads approach without taking it all? Because you're acting like it's all or nothing.
To be specific, I love love love how his kids are amazing under pressure. They love it. They relish it. And I believe that's a function of Lavars coaching. (mental toughness for all 3 kids is through the roof; if I can implement that without being overbearing - then I'm in). In other words; If I can find a healthy balance to implement this trait in my kids, I'll be very happy. As of now, I'm not sure if there's a black n white approach to achieving this without sacrificing other (more important) traits... Still trying to figure it out. That's all.

Not surprised at all, but yea, wow lol

Chino Hills coach, Stephan Gilling:
"An assistant coach comes up to me and tells me that he sees LaVar rallying the team up. I guess he got them out of their rooms on the 18th floor and tells the team that it was his system that won. That we're doing what he says. 'I run Chino Hills! I run UCLA, about to run the NBA!' He pretty much downplays me at the same time. My assistant coach sees him and says to him, 'That's not right. Is there any middle ground?' He says, 'No, there's no middle ground.'"

Ball Brothers’ High School Coach Details How Hard LaVar Ball Is To Work With

In an interview with USA TODAY’s For The Win, Gilling described what it’s like to deal with Ball, and it honestly sounds like a nightmare. It all started in mid-December when the Huskies were taking on Roosevelt (Calif.) High at a tournament in Las Vegas. Gilling said he could hear Ball shouting, “Double team!” from the sidelines, and the coach tried to put an end to it when Chino Hills trailed by 12 at halftime. “I go into the locker room, and I tell the guys to stop double teaming — just stay with your man,” Gilling told For The Win’s Andrew Joseph. “You do that, we’ll definitely get stops and come back and win.” And they did. Once Gilling’s players finally started playing man-to-man, they beat Roosevelt 76-68. But that apparently wasn’t enough for Ball, and he essentially tried to take over Gilling’s job in the locker room. “He comes to me and says, ‘What are you doing? What are you doing?’” Gilling said. “I said, ‘What do you mean? I’m trying to win the game.’ “He turns around and walks to our locker room. I said, ‘LaVar, don’t go into the locker room.’ He continues walking. I said, ‘LaVar, why are you trying to embarrass me?’ And he just kept walking and goes into the locker room. He’s in there sitting down with the team. And I’m like, ‘LaVar, get out!’"

Seemingly forgetting that Fox dropped 39 on Ball and the "white guys" scored almost all of UCLA's points where Ball had 10 and 4 turnovers
