I always love the "if this player could play like that he'd be as good as Novak" comment.

That's what makes Novak Novak- he *can* play at that top level so much of the time.

Yes, if Raonic could play his top level god mode all the time, he'd be elite. And so would Cilic, and tsonga, and everyone else. But they can't. That's why they're always ranked 5-20, because they don't have the consistency.

For the most part I agree with what you are saying. The state of tennis has certainly declined on the ATP and we were spoiled from 2008-2012. I don't know, maybe I'm more of an optimist because I still saw some great play yesterday even though Federer is a shadow of himself, Raonic matches when he plays good can be pretty boring especially against Federer because of their styles.

Did you watch Queen's Club final? There some very good tennis in that match and can think we can still have a very good final.

Think that Murray and Raonic playing at their top level will actually make for a great match but I guess we'll see.

Ouch. Bad record. But there's always a breakthrough at some point. Maybe winning a set tomorrow against Murray is progress enough

would sure be something if Milos won considering his record:
  • 1st GS final
  • 0-3 in Masters 1000 finals
  • 1-6 in 500 Series finals (only win over Pospisil)
  • 7-1 in 250 Series finals (only loss to Fed, also beat him too tho)
  • only previous final not on hard court was a Queen's Club loss to Murray on grass a couple weeks ago 7–6 (7–5), 4–6, 3–6

i forgot that 2013 win over Pospisil in the Canadian Open was only the semifinal, went on to get smoked by Rafa in the final...

Murray has been asked ZERO questions thus far. Would kinda be weird if he wins in 3 tomorrow, prob the easiest slam for the big 4 in the last 10 years. I don't think it will go that way and can see definite value in Milos

kinda strange that there's been zero discussion of Serena equaling the open-era record 22 majors. And also winning the doubles as a cherry on top.

Now has 22 singles majors, 14 doubles majors (14-0 in double finals, wtf!), and 2 mixed doubles majors. 38 major titles overall.

Nadal over Ferrer in the French final in 2012 (?) was pretty lol.

Yeah 2013, when the SF against Djokovic was the clear final and Djoko dun goofed with that net incident while up deep in the fifth.

Such a baller match though.

To be fair there was a few FO finals where Rafa just smoked them.

Serena is a repugnant human being, but it's always interesting how KC wants to suck her dick.

If Murray wins tomorrow, evil has won. I can't think of a worse outcome than her and Murray winning a major together.

Raonic deserves at least one major. So does Tsonga. But he probably has missed his window.

How can those two players 'deserve' to win at least one major?

Tsonga has been in 1 final where he thumped Rafa in the semi but then bottled the final. He's been in a few semis since then but hasn't consistently challenged and has more first week exists from slams than 2nd week exists. Raonic on the other hand is in his first final and has a record of r2,r2,r2, sf, r3 at wimbledon prior to this final and we've seen his record discussed itt about his tour finals record.

Different story if they are consistently getting to finals and being unlucky or just missing out or pulling out of finals and what not due to injury.

Someone like Del Potro deserve to win more majors.
