2 things. United are kinda meh.

They were decent last year but not as good as their point total suggested. Ronaldo is a marginal upgrade but mostly just means they'll have less a drop off in production from the minutes cavani wasn't playing. Sancho has been pretty disappointing and they didn't address their biggest hole in central midfield. I don't see them having any chance of cracking into the top 3 of Chelsea/city/plop. Whether or not the teams behind them can catch up to them? Inclined to say probably not but I wouldn't rule it as much of a foregone conclusion as I would of at the start of the season.

Emery's reasonable success at Villarreal really shines a light on how bad arsenals squad really was from end of Wenger till basically this xfer window. It also really shows how incredible Wenger was to get what he got out of that squad.
