You can't just sort by trophies. The best is an individual thing. Not like Messi doesn't have a nearly equally stacked cabinet.

Messi has consistently had a better supporting cast as well. Don't think there's much of an argument for Messi other than people finding his style more attractive and holding Ronaldo's physical prowess against him. It's pretty stupid. Ronaldo is the perfect player in every way.

Hes also aging better. Seems likely Ronaldo continues to be better for several more years furthering the gap.

Ronaldos longevity definitely in his favour. He has closed the gap these last few seasons. But Messi could be winning Champions leagues for years more. Like if Messi wins the world cup next year gg Ronnie.

Only because of age. Even then probably still not true. This is one of the best arguments for Ronaldo.

Argument for Messi is that he is a better player.
Ronaldo is fantastic and will deservingly win his 5th ballon d'or this year but you just need to watch both players to know who is the GOAT. They score about the same amount of goals per game, but Messi does A LOT more than scoring.
Messi has better supporting cast argument is laughable, so Kroos, Ozil,DiMaria,Bale, Modric,Benzema etc all suck I guess.
Madrid may easily have won this even without Ronaldo.

Not that I disagree with the rest of your post, but that's about as much as is needed.

supporting cast is debatable right now (which is why Ronaldo has had more team success lately) but when Messi was winning CL's during the tiki-taka era it definitely wasn't close and plenty of people were pushing those trophies as a GOAT argument, so it goes both ways.

Some what agree, in 2007-9 (although kaka) Ronaldo was a better player as he was more developed and Messi had his injuries. Messi has always been the better individual. Although it'd be weird if Ronaldo didn't win as many ballon dors. Realistically it should be about 8-2 in Messis favour.

Messi does do alot more than him but this isn't and hasn't always been the case Ronaldo has adapted his game to become the ultimate goal scorer/poacher. He use to run at players and destroy them.

As thing stand ronnie has more goals but more games and a few years on messi (repeat this season in terms of goals, messi has more goals than him).

Similar trophies and individual awards, although people will say Ronaldo has a euro 2016 and has done it in more than 1 league but we're kidding ourselves if you don't think Messi would destroy the P.L if he came over and played for one of the big boys.
