He likely would have but doesn't have to (and it's never a 100%), which leaves an easy out for the ref to keep his (non) call within not just the spirit of the game, but also the laws. That is the only point I am trying to make, which I mistakenly thought was fairly agreeable.

I hope you agree that there would rightly be much more commotion if it had been ruled the other way around.

Neither is a penalty imo.

No Bayern player was anywhere near the ball during the "handball," there was no angle or advantage to be gained. You see a player hand off a ball to another player to take a throw all the time, it's not a foul just because the referee blew the whistle. Sloppy from Gabriel maybe but it would be pathetic for that to be given.

Saka flung his leg out at Neuer like how Reggie Miller used to kick his leg out at a defender to draw a "foul" to get free throws. Not a pen, Saka should do better.
