Stu I ask this without knowing a thing about investments, and not at all sarcastically... do you think Trump being president (or anything that he's done) has a direct correlation with your investments improving? Or is it just kind of random? Not to politard the thread or anything, but as a Canadian I really don't give a **** about Trump and I've really grown tired of it dominating the news, but I've also just been kind of under the impression that everything he's done so far has been a total dumpster fire while this could definitely suggest otherwise. Or is this an isolated case?

The market had a big rally right after Trump won the election which is hard to avoid giving Trump some credit for whether the rally was reasonable or not. Since the start of the year the market has had a very steady upward creep that is just plain bizarre. Volatility has been nonexistent and there really hasn't been any corrections or upward spikes to speak of. It's just been a steady +0.15%-0.60% or so most days with the occasional down day of similar magnitude.

This is seriously one of the strangest years I've ever seen in the stock market. I'm up >40% YTD and >60% since Trump was elected and I'm just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Literally no idea why it's continuing to go up except that the market does tend to like gridlock in D.C. and Trump has been great at getting nothing done so far.

Trump is good for business. He's going to make himself and his rich buddies richer and they're the ones who control the stock market.
It's good to be the king

Definitely a strong correlation, though who knows what will happen if we get into some war with North Korea.

As much as many in the middle class don't like him and what he stands for, no one is complaining about the spectacular growth of their 401(k)'s over the past 12 months..

To steal a line from former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight:

"If Trump is inevitable, relax and enjoy it"..

lol no. Not even remotely close. Dude had the emotion, but you need a lot more than raw emotion to come close to Michaels' call. The great thing about Michaels call was that you could feel the emotion gradually creeping into and eroding his professionalism, building to a crescendo with do you believe in miracles...YES! And even that was less emotion than ski calling dude started out with. He was excitedly yelling the whole time. Bad!
