omg that would be absolutely incredible

Jesus, they're dumb.

Yes, he shouldn't have given her a University job, and yes, he shouldn't have lied about it, but each is a pretty normal thing for a heterosexual male to do if he has a chance to do it.

No, but it's normal to do the things that led to it. Given what she looks like, what do you think the odds are that a random married man, in his 40s, who had the opportunity, would **** her?

Giving her a job was uncool (but only because it puts the university in some legal danger), and he should have been punished for that. But firing is too much, in part because what started it all was completely normal behavior.

Yea, I don't know. I thought all you had to do was declare for it, but apparently you have to have graduated or have planned to play but were unable to for some reason (Pryor). Guess this is because Bernie Kosar and Brian Bosworth gamed the system. I've heard multiple people say this though (about Wilson in the supplemental draft), looks like I was just the only one to check if it's true. And even I waited until I put my foot in my mouth first, to see if it was possible.

This will be the end of his 4th year in college though so graduation is a very real possibility, and it would make him eligible.

no I can understand the cheating part of it (Still not normal, defined as a significant portion of the population), but the job stuff is so ****ing messed up.

attackdog, him hiring her illegally and paying her hush money is definitely something worth firing him for. Especially a guy who is in the spotlight and is supposed to be a "role model". You get paid millions a year, you dont **** around do stupid ****. He got what he should have.

And yes, id probably succumb to ****ing that slut too.

idk if you're making millions a year and are a highly visible employee of a public institution and are married, it's not ****ing hard to keep your penis in your pants. And if you don't want to ****ing divorce your wife, don't get a mistress and hire her.

EDIT: idk I might go celibate for a decade+ to earn what Petrino makes in a year every year I'm celibate. If I have a wife and am required to not **** around, it's EZ money and I can buy a ****ing private jet.

So your suggestion is that the U of Arkansas should be worried about facing a lawsuit from this fiance based on some thing that you likely just made up that they are in no way responsible for and could not possibly be a successful lawsuit.

Yeah I'm surprised at the number of people calling Arkansas stupid over this. Suspended for two games for sleeping with subordinates and promoting them? Really? I'm not even a huge moralistic person but jfc you don't ****ing sleep with your employees, and if some reason you must, you sure as **** don't promote them and sweet mother of god you don't ever give them $20,000.

There are certain things you just don't do as a boss. Doesn't matter how good you are. This is beyond beyond standard.

Even before that I expected this. I posted as much a few days ago. I don't care if you're the greatest manliest most hairy chested coach and you're coming off a perfect season because you're the Kasparov of college football coaches. At a certain point effectiveness at your job is irrelevant as a reason for why you should stay.

I can maybe see an argument if he just slept with her. Then you can argue it was a wholly personal thing and adults gonna adult. But if you abuse your position by promoting the employee you're porking you've ****ed yourself in just about any line of work outside of pimping.

Then of course there's lying to the school, creating a ****storm of bad press, and embarrassing the university. This was never a close call, even before the money came into the picture.

Please let that fiancee story be true for our entertainment value.

Also, Butch Davis going to Arkansas would be a horrid fit with their current roster. They'd go from putting up 35 a game to attempting to win every game 17-14.
