you dont win the heisman and have a 10+ career in the nba and be considered a "waste." Charlie Ward did very well for himself. If he had chosen to be a "legit" NFL Qb, its doubtful he would of played in the NFL for 10+ years.

I would say Brett Favre. The guy just chucked balls up for grabs his whole career. Had some good talent around him over the years in Green Bay and only succeeded when Holmgren and McCarthy reined him in. Even last year, the Jets were 8-3 and tanked the season despite having a good running game. Favre just threw INT after INT, what a waste of a career.

I grew up in the same town he went to high school (he went to Bethlehem Catholic high school in PA), and I was in middle school when he was a senior. Dude was a legend in all of Eastern PA, really, but the stories about him were like myths passed around and glamorized and blown up out of proportion. Looking back, its funny that he was just a high school kid. But he was a serious God to anyone my age at that time who played football. Also, many of the stories that were told ended up being true. Then he reneged on his commitment to Penn State, which ****ed up the program for a while, and he became summarily hated for years.

Great, great fighter, died way too young. I remember the day he died, it was a total shock.

U.S. men's basketball team from 2002 to 2008

For everyone with a short memory, the U.S. national team finished sixth in the World Championships the "Dream Team to the Creamed Team."

The 2004 Summer Olympic team lost three games to win a bronze medal.

In 2006 World Championships team usa again disappointing, losing against Greece in the semi-finals, to just win the bronze medal.

Sad but true. Bowden built FSU, but then he set it back 10 years by hiring Jeff Bowden and staying on waaaaaaaay too long. At least FSU has the longest consecutive bowl streak.

Either they don't know, don't show, or don't care about what's going on in the hood.

Joe Delaney was a pretty sad case. Rookie of the year, pro bowl in his rookie year, RB for the Chiefs. Had all the talent in the world. After his second season he drowned at a family gathering trying to save 3 kids who didn't know how to swim. He didn't know how to swim himself, but still jumped in to try to save the kids.

I think the Pittsburgh Pirates deserve a mention here. The ex-Pirate all-star team would be pretty decent instead we get 67 ****ing wins a year.

Do you hope the NCAA ganks some victories so Bobby will finally hang it up?
