The CBA is the wildcard in all of this, of course, but nobody knows what's going to happen with that and it's difficult to gameplan for.

Parise has been a world class player when healthy, and even when later in the contract his numbers start to decline he's still going to be a very valuable player because of his all around game. Sounds like you've already convinced yourself that the Penguins are going to sign him and now you're grasping for straws as to why it's a bad move. Having tons of cap space tied up in Crosby, Malkin, Parise, and Neal. Lol Pitt amirite?!
Youre fighting windmills man. I dont think pittsburgh will sign parise, but i wouldnt even care if they did. Hell, id encourage them to for 10yrs/$80m. At the very least people like you would hopefully shut the **** up about Sid never getting any wingers, and I could make money off ******s who think he'll put up 130pts a season with Parise.

Drafted by Anaheim in 2008. Played for Wisconsin for 3 seasons. Never signed a contract with the Ducks and in May he de-registered from Wisconsin.

From wiki:

According to league rules, from the time Anaheim was given notice of the de-registration from school, the Ducks have a 30-day exclusive window to try to sign him or trade him. If Anaheim does not sign or trade Schultz, he will be eligible to sign an Entry Level Contract with any of the NHL's other 29 teams on July 1, 2012.

lol Flyers if they trade Brayden after just getting Luke!

lol Howson if he trades for Couturier after giving up that pick for Carter!

getting two good young centers like that for Nash isn't lol, but "lol Howson!" anyway, and always...

Idk how I'd feel about sending both Schenn and Coots, but it seems decent for both sides.

I really like Gaustad, and think he's good for the Preds since they are so bad at possession, but that is definitely high. It's even worse if they use him in a similar way to the playoffs, where he would pretty much come on, take a d-zone draw and GTFO.

I'm sure Habs could have gotten Emelin way cheaper on a 1 year deal but by next year it will look like great value. It's not a steal or anything but I don't mind the contract at all.

well yea but now they have $32M to sign these guys:

MacLellan, Jack
Kostitsyn, Sergei
Wilson, Colin
Radulov, A.
Kostitsyn, Andrei
Tootoo, Jordin
McGrattan, Brian
Weber, Shea
Hillen, Jack
Bouillon, Francis

+ a backup for Rinne

also maybe making a run at Suter?

And they most likely won't spend anywhere near the cap

They spent $52M last season, including 2 buy-outs. It just doesn't make sense for a guy, like jared said, that is a face-off specialist.

MacLellan, Jack - who? RFA
Kostitsyn, Sergei - RFA, no idea what he wants
Wilson, Colin - RFA, $1-2m
Radulov, A. - he's gone
Kostitsyn, Andrei - prob gone as a UFA
Tootoo, Jordin - might be gone given he's UFA
McGrattan, Brian - lol
Weber, Shea - RFA, blank cheque time
Hillen, Jack - who? RFA
Bouillon, Francis - bleh

pay Weber, and Suter if he's willing to come back, fill in the rest for as cheap as possible to fit into your internal cap. Sergei's rights could be traded if he wants too much money.

it's not the worst thing in the world to overpay someone like Gaustad a bit when your other centers are Lewand, Fisher, and...yeah that's about it.

I would think Preds will be more interested in re-signing Jonathon Blum than a few of those guys listed above.
