It was a hell of an engagement party, but sure hope the bride (or is that the groom?) ages well. Wouldn't be the first bride to diet for the wedding, then blimp out once the ring is on her finger.

But seriously, that's about as good as could be hoped for.
Well done DLombardi.

I've been screaming this at another board, but people don't listen. LAK fans are so ingrained to want a big summer splash. Kinda sad.

LA Kings ‏@LAKings

If you see Patrik Elias at the Hockey Hall of Fame wearing a baggy jacket with lots of pocket space, keep an eye on him.

Geddy, just because you like Rush doesn't mean you have to sound like Limbaugh.

Re: NHL Offseason 2012 Thread

Honestly if we sign price at 6.5, might as well get the rfa offersheet compensation and sign bernier for a third of that price.

$6,268,175 — $7,835,219: Two first-round picks, a second and third

especially if it means a 2013 first round from the lolleafs or something. give my man trevor timmins some work.

So is the Crosby contract the greatest high-risk/high-reward contract in NHL history?

Re: NHL Offseason 2012 Thread

I guess filling for arbitration makes it somewhat impossible? But I wouldn’t have minded getting compensated and then going after Bernier or Luongo on a much nicer cap hit.

Just dont ask him to count the zeros, his head will start hurting and he'll be out for another 6 months

If recent trends continue, he'll come back for the final two weeks of the season and surpass Ovechkin in goals.

Both would still score less than Dennis Wideman, of course. Once the AIDS of the Caps organization washes off that man will be unstoppable.
