Andy Strickland ‏@andystrickland

#LAKINGS told Bernier they would look to move him once a contract with Quick was finalized
from strickland - wonder how much there is to this and who the frontrunners would be

was expecting Quick contract to be in the same ballpark as Rinne's 7x7, since he was the last good goalie signed, and Kopitar and Doughty earn 6.8 and 7 respectively with Quick being equal to them in importance to the team. A 5.8 cap hit is super good, means the Kings still have a world of cap space to sign Parise and Suter (then trading Scuderi) in ultimate dream mode

10 years is going to suck towards the end of the contract however, since with his weird crouching style, he is pretty much a lock to get knee/hip injuries as he gets older

yeah okay could everyone stop dreaming of suter and parise? the kings are not going to sign both or either. thanks.

I guess they're gonna wait one more year before seeing whether he's worth the long term $. I can't see how he won't be.

Does the fact that they need Thomas' contract off the books also play a role here? Bruins have so little cap space at the moment.

Hmmm, but it appears that might not include Savard's 4m hit which I assume is a lock to be put on LTIR.

.930 SV% in the regular season, Stanley Cup + Conn Smythe with a .946 SV% in the playoffs = 5.8M

.916 SV% in the regular season, your dick in your hand during the playoffs = 6.5M

Fire Bergevin.

Some dudes are serial monogamists. Nothing wrong with that.

only reason the cap hit for quick is so low is because of term

But all those years are all UFA years for Quick, we're paying 2 RFA years at an absurd price for Price (GREAT PUN).

Also, Quick is about 277x better than Price, who is closer to Fleury than Quick.

he's played 423 minutes in the NHL, so it's prob a good idea for them to have a goalie of the present.
