Ya know, I'm curious, What do you do if you're the blues?
I mean, your goaltender was top tier, your offense was top tier, your D was top tier

Do you change anything?

On Yakupov-

Quote:
Craig Button's Notes: "Too dynamic, skilled and exciting to pass up. He’ll fit in with the trio of Nugent-Hopkins, Eberle and Hall."
In other words- man, we really wanna pass up on this WIL Russian, but he's too good so we have to grit our teeth and select him.

Man, that mock is kinda dumb... How in the hell would Grigorenko fall to 17th? Past the Caps 11th and 16th, who have shown a willingness to draft ENIGMATIC RUSSIANS? I don't think Grigs falls, but in any case I'd love a Teravainen+Girgensons first round. Or a Grigorenko+Girgensons round would be a coup. Make it so, hockey gods.

Why did Stephane matteau name his son Stefan matteau
Bettman Lockout III Thread (aka NHL Offseason: Now & Forever) Quote
06-20-2012 , 10:14 AM
three reasons:

1. Stephane in English looks like Stephanie.

2. He didn't want his kid to be a 'junior'.

3. Al Trautwig was with him when his son was born and wouldn't leave him alone, thus prompting a spelling error

What a sick interview regardless. The 30-40 serbian guys puts it over the top.

yeah it's probably about right assuming he doesn't turn into Mike Green or w/e. we've been talking about the cap going up and players/agents not really realizing or adjusting for that, so *shrug*. sure they would have liked to get him for a little cheaper, but oh well. he looks pretty damn good, and now he's locked up for a while. and i mean, what else is Ottawa gonna spend their money on?

goaltending prob not top tier at all, just Hitch's system is always good for goalies. might like to package a few of their good players and pieces for more elite ones (maybe one more really good F & D?), unless they think they're all going to be worth waiting for. but yeah, not a lot to do there. one of those cases where it might be worth taking another run with basically the same group and see what happens, given that the core is young.

meh, think it speaks to how he might not be a great fit for Edmonton in particular given that they already have wingers like Hall, Eberle, Hemsky, Smyth if he re-signs, & Jones. whereas their centers are RNH, Horcoff, sorta Gagner, & Belanger, their D blows, and their goaltending is below average. but take as an anti-Russian shot if you want.

and speaking of GOAT Serbian interviews...

(warning: nsfw Serbian & subtitles)

Detroit better get some Dmen that are at the elite level otherwise that playoff streak could be in jeopardy

You are missing the names of Suter/Weber/Bouwmeester

Also, Smith is good but he needs a little time to develop.

Ugh....

That roster looks so gross compared to 3 years ago

I think there's a legit chance, as in if Detroit/Philly dont beat them, it might be his 3rd favorite destination
