Not two weeks off his smashing Stanley Cup victory and celebratory parade, L.A. Kings defenseman Drew Doughty is getting some not-so-flattering headlines this afternoon.
The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office confirms to the Los Angeles Times that a rape accusation against Doughty is "under review." The D.A. will decide whether to press charges later this week.

Griess would still have to prove his stability, with nabby you know what you're getting: a goaltender who can put up with the sharks bull**** D.

doughty probably went down to the police station and started shouting obscenities at everyone - rather than put him in jail, they just decided to let him go

I'll take it, assuming Subban signs a moderately priced long term extension (7 years/30-35 mill?).

I'm just excited for Friday. I've ran through a million different combinations in my head (gagner + hemsky +1st overall for Nash + 2nd overall was my genius idea today), and at this point I just don't care. Whatever happens we're gonna be a better team.

Reinhart, Murray, and Yakupov are all solid picks, and we're damn near guaranteed to end up with one of them no matter what we do.

Too bad there are no coaches in the draft, we still need one of those.

Flames standing between the Oilers and Sutter.

Quote:
Quote:
If I was to bet on who’ll coach the Oilers next year, I’d say Krueger is 2-1 choice, Brent Sutter is 4-1 and Cooper, the best coach in the AHL, would be 10-1 because I’m not sure GM Steve Tambellini would step out of the box and go young with a guy who’s had no NHL experience. Cooper, 44, wouldn’t fit as an associate coach. If they were to hire him, they would have a more established NHL guy as his right-hand man. Krueger has never been an NHL head man, but he’s a world-ranked coach with his long standing with the Swiss national team. His plus is he knows the Oiler players better than anybody else. Sutter would be very good, too, but I’ve heard the Flames won’t grant permission to let the Oilers talk to him until his Flames contract runs out June 30.
If that last line is true – and Matheson is a veteran beat reporter with as many connections in hockey as anyone – it would go a long way toward explaining why the Oilers haven’t named their head coach yet.
Explains why we have no coach yet.
