Re: NHL Offseason 2012 Thread

last year one of the guys in our salary cap pool took Bobby Butler in the 4th round or something (we’re 10 in the pool).

As soon as he said it, another one of my friend said:
Quote:
Bobby Butler?
And the entire room exploded in laughter.

Not too happy about the stuart contract.

Mostly ambivalent with the Tmac thing. If they don't change the PK philosophy I'll be much more disappointed.

Rat and i were talking about this on skype and he was a lot closer than I was w/r/t how much hed get. Im kinda disappointed based on peoples anecdotes of stuart last year (lets hoping he was just dogging it), but it seems like a lot of teams need good defensemen, so i guess its not as bad considering the market.

I mean, Ive been pretty outspoken about my dislike for him at times, but the problem is I dont see anyone else available to fill the void, so its pretty expected.

Seems like a simple case of real recognizing real.

edit: its pretty funny though b/c id be pretty pissed if i were a kings (and presumably a dodgers) fan.

Wow look. A girl wearing a dress that shows cleavage. As I spend all my time on the internet posting about sports, and have never left my house to attend a nightclub, bar, formal event, or other social gathering where women are present; I have never before seen a girl wearing a dress that shows cleavage.

Re: NHL Offseason 2012 Thread

With Helm at 4/8.5 we just need to pay someone to tell him how to score on breakaways...

one sick move and he would score 25 a yr

Karlsson 7-year extension with the Sens, will probably set the market for Subban's upcoming extension.

Dreger on TSN1050: Leafs have no interest in N. Backstom (Min). No interest in Luongo without money going other way.
Interested to see if Burke is being honest here (on Luongo, obv), or if he's trying to force Gillis' hand, because if Toronto decides to back out then Florida is their last hope (unless of course they want to trade him to Chicago ).

well good thing it's always opposite day when Burke talks to the press before making a deal...

and Shirley, you know there's no way he's going to Chicago. give it up. they'd trade him to Edmonton before Chicago.

Bobby Mac says 7 x 6.5M for Karlsson. That means if Subban gets anything over 5M I'mma be ****ing pissed.

Re: NHL Offseason 2012 Thread

I would've liked Karlsson better at about a million less, but whatever.

Rock stars get paid. Signing a $45.5 million contract while in Las Vegas. I want to be at that party.

aren't they trying to give Dog Murray away too?

(essentially making it a Stuart for Murray swap)

Re: NHL Offseason 2012 Thread

id be shocked if nabby was aquired considering greiss played well. Stuart was a little bit of an overpay, unless he turns back the clock a little. McClellan staying makes sense, i mean who else would we even want?
