Maybe it's a Toronto thing.

That's because bubble hockey machines are like $2k and far better than crappy table top ones which are only a few hundred at best.

So obviously parents aren't going to shell out that much money and will buy their kids the crappier version.

Maybe the sick bubble hockey machines are $2k, but I know my family had a bubble hockey table that was like $350 (1997 dollars) and was awesome - it didn't have a fancy puck reloader or the boo/cheer button, but it worked just fine.

The table top hockey I had as a kid we lost the puck way too often and the rods got all [censored] up.

Oh god. I loved that boo/cheer button. Was awesome.

We have a bubble hockey machine in our lounge at home games. No boo/cheer button though. We dork around on it sometimes but my coworkers get tired of losing to me.

I think I first played them around 1983 or so. Local convenience store had one. The USA vs USSR version of course.

Fun fact: USA/USSR bubble hockey arcade was used as action scenes in the disney smash-hit miracle.

Word on Twitter is that both sides were so inspired by American WIM achieving GOLDZZZZ at the WJC that they put aside their differences to come to an agreement

7 year max on player contracts, 8 if you're resigning your own player. It'll be nice to see the end of cheat code deals for guys in their 20s.

Draft lottery will change. All 14 teams fully eligible for 1st pick overall. Weighting system may remain, but 4-move restriction out.
