I don't think it would be a good idea for the Kings to tie up a bunch of money in Parise.

He won't traded. He's an RFA after next year, so may aswell just use him as a cheap very good backup then trade him for a meh return

Big Bob talkin' [weak] Draft

cliffs: few, if any, superstars, should be lots of good D-men, lolCanadianforwards!

apparently Columbus shopping the #2 pick, and after hearing that Edmonton was shopping the Yakupov pick, latest i heard said they aren't, wat? kinda doubt that, think they'd prob rather snag a D + something rather than another winger.

oh and lolAuger finally "retires"

there will be hell to pay if Habs pass on Yakupov

(he'll get drafted #1 anyway so that's moot)

If Anaslime gets him, I will be grumpy. They will still blow though.

Is that Mike Richards wearing a Giants hat? wtf? At least Matt Greene is doing it right for someone who plays in LA, even if Dodger Blue doesn't suit him well at all

yeah i think Yakupov goes #1, he's basically the only one ppl have been talking about as an elite-level, franchise player in this draft. whether it's to Edmonton or someone else, well yeah i could see someone else moving up to that spot. Edmonton probably would be best off to trade down lower in the top-10, pick up a roster player to help them now, and still get a Murray/Trouba/Dumba/Reinhart/Rielly, or whatever D-man they like. heard a few weeks back that Reinhart might be the guy bc of the obv Alberta connections involved, but who knows.

Burkie loves making a splash at the draft, so i could see him giving the Oilers #5 + something for the Yakupov pick (where something maybe equals Schenn?). Oilers still need help now at D, C, and probably in net too, so who knows. funny if you look at their contract situation, they have Whitney, Smid, & Schultz as their top-3 D probably, then some young guys who may or may not be any good, and some plugs. but Whitney & Smid are UFA in 2013, and Schultz is in 2014. they have some decent looking prospects on the way, but as Grind said, 'la reconstruccion es permanente' could continue to rule the day.

i mean say Whitney wants top dollar at market and leaves (probably?), maybe Smid does the same (or maybe he's loyal and stays, no idea on him). i could see Schultz deciding to stay if the money is right. so after that you have Teubert, Potter, Petry, and prospects? even with picking up a roster D like Schenn, and a top D this year that'll probably spell the lottery, unless their forwards GOAT it up. and i don't really think that Dubnyk is a better than average goalie, prob in the bottom 1/3 of starters.

cliffs: lol building around WINGERZZZ

but back to the draft, obv the real interesting guy is Grigorenko. supposedly the 2nd BPA, but lots of ppl seem to HATE him, and with the KHL option he could slide big time. is there any team we would expect would gamble on him in the 1st and would stop the slide for sure?

this draft is funny too with Columbus picking 2nd, and prob Grigorenko or Galchenyuk as a logical pick, but they don't see to want to bother with Russians, despite what they might say. could be a lot of action between them and Edmonton perhaps looking to move down.

and yeah, can't see Yakupov not going #1, but if he didn't Columbus (or whoever moves up), Montreal, & the NYI would all have to snap-call on a talent like that probably. and if they didn't somehow, i really don't see him falling past the Leafs at #5.

A stretch for me to put Yakupov at six, but crazier things have happened.

Really do feel that if Edmonton-Columbus stay 1-2, Yakupov is still going to be on the board at three.

Hell will freeze over before Yakupov drops out of the top 5.

Far more likely Grigorenko drops out of the top 5, imo.
