yeah i think Yakupov goes #1, he's basically the only one ppl have been talking about as an elite-level, franchise player in this draft. whether it's to Edmonton or someone else, well yeah i could see someone else moving up to that spot. Edmonton probably would be best off to trade down lower in the top-10, pick up a roster player to help them now, and still get a Murray/Trouba/Dumba/Reinhart/Rielly, or whatever D-man they like. heard a few weeks back that Reinhart might be the guy bc of the obv Alberta connections involved, but who knows.
Burkie loves making a splash at the draft, so i could see him giving the Oilers #5 + something for the Yakupov pick (where something maybe equals Schenn?). Oilers still need help now at D, C, and probably in net too, so who knows. funny if you look at their contract situation, they have Whitney, Smid, & Schultz as their top-3 D probably, then some young guys who may or may not be any good, and some plugs. but Whitney & Smid are UFA in 2013, and Schultz is in 2014. they have some decent looking prospects on the way, but as Grind said,
'la reconstruccion es permanente' could continue to rule the day.
i mean say Whitney wants top dollar at market and leaves (probably?), maybe Smid does the same (or maybe he's loyal and stays, no idea on him). i could see Schultz deciding to stay if the money is right. so after that you have Teubert, Potter, Petry, and prospects? even with picking up a roster D like Schenn, and a top D this year that'll probably spell the lottery, unless their forwards GOAT it up. and i don't really think that Dubnyk is a better than average goalie, prob in the bottom 1/3 of starters.
cliffs: lol building around WINGERZZZ
