I should amend this to say 'could this offer forthcoming from the league be one that the PA finally puts to a vote and ultimately approves?' I realize the lockout can't actually end tonight, but eventually SOMEONE's proposal has to be the actual one they both sign off on right?

I saw Bettman's press scrum last night during our predrink at the hotel and I felt like his answers and general mannerisms indicated he was fairly optimistic following the PA's proposal. First time in this whole cluster**** that I've felt they're getting close just based on a reaction.

Saying "I'm in 6th year" doesn't go over to well with first years. Saying "I went to U of T" works a lot better

I don't know my next move in my pursuit of that 1st year. Maybe I'll have to continue the TR after the PEEHS is done.

It is definitely a weird thought when the girl you're trying to get with is drinking some booze and it's like "oh wait, she has to get someone else to buy that for her..." but I am used to it.

That was Friday night. Like I said, it seemed like another visit was likely this week. But I definitely wasn't expecting it when on Saturday my buddy texts me like "the girls are having a party, what are your thoughts?" Obviously I'm like "well then it's pretty much a must attend." He's more of a hit it & quit it guy, which is polar opposite to me, but he was down for the adventure for the sake of my benefit.

So I text the blondie and I'm like "I hear you girls are having a party eh" and she's like "yeah it's gonna be so much fun!" So that seems ok. But as our texting progresses, I'm like "I definitely wouldn't mind seeing you again " and she doesn't respond, so that was the first sign of things going awry.

Anyways, it's a fair sized party, about 30 people, so we saddle up 4 boys in the Caddy and start wheeling up there. I text the woman again being like "we're on our wayyyyy" and get nothing again. Whatever. Now this is where things become troublesome. En route to the party, the brunette calls my buddy. It's obviously a response to my text. She tells news that blondie's ex boyfriend is at the party, and he can be a bit of a hothead, so basically don't do anything drastic while he's present. Fine. We decide it's best to just wait him out, and when he goes home, I can talk to my girl. This seems pretty good and gives the advantage of hanging out, doing my own thing all night with the boys, talking to people, not being clingy, whatever.

So we show up at the party around 11pm. The brunette pulls me aside and points out the ex-bf, tells me to watch out, not hit on the blondie in his presence, whatever. She also tells me that they still kind of have a thing for each other, typical first year breakup, but she's completely down for my D and just doesn't know which way to go. She also tells me that the two of them banged on Thursday night, then I showed up there Friday night and got a little action. Whatever.

So the whole party I'm chilling there with the boys, chatting up the womenz, whatever, waiting out the situation. Problem being, I lost track of her around 11:45pm and never saw her again. She never came over to say hi or anything. The ex-bf didn't leave until like 1am, so the whole thing was a lost cause. I asked the brunette where the hell blondie went but she was like "I don't even know, bla bla bla bla" whatever. It was extremely disappointing. I just figured she was probably freaked out about the situation and just went home or something. But as we're packing up to leave around 2:30am (waiting for one of the guys who got it on with brunette's older sister on the dining room floor to get dressed...) I overhear the group of girls mention something about blondie is sleeping in a closet. Some bull**** like that. So she obviously just ran away and hid all night and her friends covered for her.

I was so pissed going home. Just such typical girl bull****. They are always screwing around with multiple people and their friends always cover for their ****. I don't expect that will ever change and it's just so tilting. MAN I was MADDER than Murs during Washington's inevitable playoff chokes. My buddy was also pretty pissed about him and the brunette since she was being really PDA and clingy and he was not into it. So we were both like "**** this group of girls let's get out of here and never return."

She texts me first thing Sunday morning, which is the worst time to have to be pissed, because you wake up and get this text that's like "I'm so sorry about last night bla bla" and you're half asleep and you have a huge morning wood so you're just thinking "****, it's ok whatever." Anyways, she said she was stressed about having the ex and myself there, and she passed out in a closet, and she was going to come down to see me after her ex left, and all that ****. I played it pretty fine and was basically like, "we'll see what we can do, maybe we'll try to sort something out this week" and she's like "yeah for sure sounds good, just text me!" So she is obviously still in desire of my P in her V.

I met up with my buddy Sunday night and even he said that he might want one final trip up north of highway 7, despite what he previously said. So who knows what's going to happen. I told him I'll probably try a solo trip in the week and see where that leaves us.

She also texted me HAPPY NEW YEAR after midnight last night, but like 20 minutes after, so she obviously had to think about it and consider whether or not to text me since she didn't want to seem too into me or clingy. I waited until today to text her "happy new year" back like a boss.

So basically that's where it's at now. I'm not sure what I should do next. Obviously I want to finish the job. It's like, if you're going hunting, and you shoot an arrow into a deer's ass, and it runs away bleeding out. That's your kill. You can't just let it run away and die and let the dogs and wildebeests at it. It's YOUR KILL. You go track that deer down, take what is yours, and enjoy the spoils.

I'm prob just gonna text her tomorrow and ask to hang out and see if she's down. She's relatively nearby and the more girls you have in your life who you occasionally bang, the better off you are in life quality I believe.


TL;DR - 18 year old girl drama which I'm a big sucker for.

You're a dude with some deeper emotional needs than the average flighty teenage girl can satisfy, regardless of how down to earth or "worth it" she might seem. Recalibrate your radar bud, 18-year old girls have a hard enough time trying to figure out which of the 5 standard girl poses works best for their next iPhone bathroom selfie, let alone making up their mind about guys they may or may not like.
