I mean yeah, Burmistrov was never going to put up huge amounts of points - in his draft year he didn't crush in the OHL - but still, that's a rotten beginning. He does have 52 shots so at least he's also running horrible. And he doesn't seem like someone that would excel on the big ice.

Russia's problem, more than taking KHLers, was rolling 4 lines throughout the tournament regardless of game state.

Fostering love of hockey is important, but geez we don't need to raise children with more favorite teams than cwice. unless you are just tryin to raise a bunch of little bettmans.

Dumba being cut is not a huge surprise imo, the team is pretty loaded at D, so someone had to go. i mean Derrick Pouliot didn't even make it to the last round of cuts. and speaking of 5th rounders, Canucks prospect Frank Corrado supposedly has had a great season and camp, but couldn't make it due to the numbers.

Morgan Rielly, Dougie Hamilton, Griffin Reinhart, Xavier Ouellet, & Scott Harrington were all pretty much locks apparently, Ryan Murphy plays for Spott in Kitchener so he's almost always gonna make it regardless, and i guess they liked Tyler Wotherspoon's size for the last spot (the TSN guys speculated that might have been the deciding factor anyway).

making a Canadian WJ team is rarely easy, but in a lockout year even tougher.

Maybe a dumb question but what will be the draft order if the whole season is cancelled?

The team owners should have an auction for the first overall pick.

it'd be pretty sweet to see burke spend 50 million of his owners' cash on a pick and waste it on some plug american defenseman.

sounds like things going to defcon 1. league filed suit to uphold lockout as a preemptive move against union declaring intent to vote to disclaim interest.

Seriously, it's so amazingly bad. "Mike Green, you should be embarrassed for what you just did; that does not belong in the NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE!"

Half effort on the initial defense, half effort on the hook, and literally coasts for 5 seconds all while watching. I mean, it is 4-0 at the point, but the effort is so bad, it's really inexcusable.

not a labor expert, so this is very rough, but the PA announced plans to disclaim interest, which basically means they would have been able to file suit against league to declare the lockout illegal. the league just beat them into court. my take is, the league thinks it has strong legal standing and wanted to pick a favorable judge/venue for the case. i'm not sure how this affects the ability to conduct negotiations in the near future, but it's a bold move that should bring things closer to a conclusion, one way or another.
