While I agree with cwice and Jared in general on this, I do think it's strange to go there if this is going to be your play - you could've proved you weren't hung up on this girl just by staying home. I don't know, it's odd to consider someone a friend in this spot. Part of me thinks you didn't want to do it because you didn't want to prove to your old self what a letdown it would be.

Or maybe you're afraid to sex her up because of your own emotions and issues involved. That's reasonable. But say that's why you didn't want to do that. Don't say it was because you don't care...but that also preventing her from getting a "win" was also important to you at the same time.
Unless I missed something, that was not his intention. If it was, then I'd agree with you. But it seems like Geddy had no idea that this "opportunity" would arise, and when it did, he made a decision and he is happy with that decision.

Geddy - anyone can say that you did or didn't make the right decision but the truth is, the only one that can say what the right decision was is you. You made your decision, you are still happy with it and that is ALL that matters here.

Thanks for sharing. F..k the haters.

And LOL at Geddy looking back on this some day and having huge regrets. Geddy seems like an awesome guy with lots going for him, there will be LOTS of other girls. It's not like this one sexual encounter would have been a life changing event or anything.

This is very accurate. I went down to say goodbye, have some drinks and gambol. Was not expecting this to turn TR worthy.

My FG odyssey is a strange one, no doubt. As far as what kind of a friend she was, not sure if I have an answer to that question. Before I was interested, we got on great. Obviously I never really got back to that point after going through what I did but after we went through the rough patch, I still enjoyed the times we hung out.

I guess we could classify this situation as "not sure what you'd do until you were actually faced with that decision," and I felt like sharing the call I made.

I'm pretty curious to know how much Geddy feels his decision was made easier (even just temporarily) to live with due to OshChick's Sat morning e-friskiness.

Also, in light of GL calling FG conceited among other things, I'm wondering what he initially saw in her besides the 'smoke and mirrors' (teehee). Although I could have the timeline messed up in my head.

Being about his age and certainly with a lower life number and being more introverted on the spectrum, combined with the 99.9% chance I'd never see her again, I probably get it in.

A seven-time male stripping champion once said every guy gets got, and that it's ultimately necessary if you're to ever reach a certain level of awareness. How they choose to leverage the lesson(s) learned is up to them, but in GL's spot I also don't judge him poorly for passing EVEN if he wasn't fully transparent (he thinks it would have opened a new can of hung up worms in his head). I do think he has reached the boss level of 'the game' and if he hasn't killed it yet, it's most certainly on life support.

GL, congrats on feeling good with your life right now. Many people struggled for decades before realizing what they needed to do to make their life better. You seem to be well ahead of the curve in this.

SeaWeiss, I am looking forward to your apparently overdue TR of that one time you had BlackhawkGirl play with your emotions, then she got wasted and ****ed you, and you totally fell for her again.

Looks like Andrei Markov felt healthy enough to get in a ****ing fight in the KHL. Or maybe he just wanted his first Gordie Howe hat trick, since he also got 1G 1A in that game.

Needs to work on his technique if he's gonna make it a regular thing.

yes, in that i quite like watching hockey prob more than any other sport or form of entertainment, so i enjoy having games on to watch. and specifically as a fan of the Canucks, i'm missing the game. they're one of the better teams in the league, most nights the last couple years they score goals, and win games. the Sedins are maybe the two best players in the history of the franchise, and now they've missed like 100-120 games in their prime due to lockouts. so yeah i miss watching them do their thing on a nightly basis. the team as a whole is an aging one, in their prime or just over the hump and on the way down, so missing games here is not a good thing. the window is closing, and i can sense the potential mediocrity, or worse, ahead.

and i also watch a lot of random games, the HNIC Saturdays, the other stars around the league. the Crosbys, Ovechkins, Stamkoseseses, the Malkins, and so on. i miss the lulz of the bad teams and players. i miss the bad contracts, bad trades, and the lolShanabans. i miss the humourous banter off this thread.

i mean i'm pretty apathetic about the lockout, and like you say, i'm not checking daily to keep up with what's going on. when the reports come on TV if i'm watching most of the time i just change the channel bc it's so pointless, tedious, and aggravating.

so yeah i'm in the camp of "call me when it's over" like a lot of ppl, but yeah i am missing the game. i'll admit it. i suspect pretty much everyone has found other ways to occupy their time though, and it's not the end of the world. not even in Canada.

Over one quarter of the way through the AHL season and defenseman Schultz is on pace for 118 points (76 game season).

Last year 1 player got over 80 points (Chris bourque at 93), and the highest scoring defenseman was at 61 points.

Going back through old regular season threads to dig up that photoshop I made made me miss hockey very much.

Energy. Strong-willed, extroverted, willing to try anything, devil-may-care attitude. She had a larger than life persona about her; in everything we did, she was a lot of fun. We also shared a lot of similar interests, tastes and beliefs - some serious, some not so serious, but we were like-minded in a lot of respects. Exceptionally intelligent girl too. From a conversational standpoint, she was engaging and invigorating and I simply need to have that in any potential partner. She's also got a backbone; wasn't afraid to dig in her heels and stand up for what she believed in. I think the aesthetic appeal speaks for itself. She was a challenge and when we first met (or rather, when I first started falling for her), it felt like if I could land her, I was punching above my figurative weight. Hopeless romantics are always drawn to girls supposedly out of their league. I blame it on Disney.

I mean, I don't want you guys to get the wrong idea - I really did enjoy our good times together. But where we fell apart for a while was a result of my inability to articulate my feelings like a big boy and her inability to sympathize with my plight. She gets over things much more quickly than I do; she probably couldn't understand why it was so hard for me to spill out my feelings. I couldn't understand how she could seemingly take our friendship for granted. I don't think either of us were completely accurate in our assessments. It was a bad mix but an important lesson.

If we didn't have that history, I probably hook up with her on Friday. As it stands, given the context and where I'm at, the decision for me was clear.

schultz is running crazy hot too. wouldn't surprise me if he ended up around 70 points for the full season.

Putting lol inside of of brackets is obscene, rafiki. I'm pretty angry, but I'm surprised I'm able to cope with following the news, I think it's easier when it's all transparent BS. I would advise fragile people to pay little or no attention. I will run and hide when I reach my limit.

Can someone compare NHL 07 to previous and later versions? I haven't played the game much since NHL'94 or so.

They said he was running hot in the WCHA last year. They said he was running hot after 5 games, 10 games, 15 games this year. Eventually he'll get respect.

Saying he'll get 70 points this year (barring an injury) is just hating though. He's already at 31. There's a better chance of buffalo first round pick Pysyk (7pts, 19games) getting over 70 points this year, than Schultz finishing under. See what I did there?

He should be well over 70, if only because he's playing with a slew of guys who are simply far too good for this level of hockey. That'll drive up your point total pretty quickly.

Of course, this assumes a season-ending lockout and a full complement of games.
