and tbh, i did think you said you were in law school or something, so grouping you in with Bettman based on that seemed like a easy trolling lob

i must have misremembered all that somehow...

lol don't even know what to say to this.

I'm the resident diehard and miserable Flames fan, not sure how this isn't established by now. Maybe you don't know the backstory behind my brother and I making a trip to Montreal for a Leafs/Habs game and me getting on tv with a Gary Roberts jersey, but yeah, my family are Leafs fans, I'm just merely sympathetic to their misery.

Wrote my LSAT in October 2010, scored 170, thought I was headed to law school somewhere. Nootka, Gamblor and Redmen62 were helping me in the hockey threads with advice on the application process. Went 0/5 in Ontario apps, didn't end up working out. Took a year off, had to lick my wounds, ended up opening another door that's worked out really well thus far.

So you definitely weren't that far off. Sorry man, shouldn't have teed off, I was just irritable and too quick to post.

Oh LSATs. I thought he was talking about lower-south-area-toronto regional ball-hockey tournament.

Of course the owners are going to want blood, they have the advantage here. I get that it blows donkey dick, but that's unfortunately the way it works. At least it sounds like they're getting closer, hopefully we're LOLFLYERSing soon.

Re: Bettman Lockout III Thread (aka NHL Offseason: Now & Forever)

so should they force an extended lockout every time the CBA expires just bc they can win if they wait long enough? i mean at some point there's a value to just keeping the league [censored] running. idk about anyone else, but i'm seriously going to do everything i can to not spend a dime on this league for foreseeable future (ok prob won't matter in this market, but w/e). i hope lots of other ppl are thinking the same thing, and the league takes a hit. it's not like hockey will stop happening...

and if i was the PA, i'd be talking short term agreement if they want to [censored] around like this. 3 years maybe and really screw with them. bc if you give them 5-10 years on the term, then they will drag it out for every penny bc of how it adds up.

i'd also be going HAM for contract rights stuff if i'm giving them 50/50. UFA after the ELC expires. full movement rights, no 2nd contract. lol @ u!

i mean what do they really care if they're getting 50/50? who cares which players are where? if you can't make money at 50/50, then touch luck.

also the owners are prob too dumb to realize it, but liberalized player movement might actually be good for parity, so you wouldn't get these teams who are garbage for 10-15 years at a time with no hope. well, less so anyway... (see: the NFL)

The lockouts biggest loser so far?

The Winnipeg Jets, because Byfuglien and Wellwood can still by twinkies in Canada

That would be this thread. Seeing as we now have Bryant Reeves as our Overlord the fall is complete.

Sorry Everlastrr, sorry 72o, sorry Goose.
Thanks and in the end I feel the same. I did feel many of your replies on this topic have had a overabundance of *indignancy (*not a word according this editor?) to them that was regardless of your leanings so I decided to illustrate that. Sorry if it was heavy handed but we are all frustrated. BTW I think your MBA decision is awesome and I would expect you to have the political leanings you do otherwise you would be in the wrong program! I feel that any sympathy for owners in this situation is misguided. If ever there was a strike/lockout in North American major sports that was not more directly on the owners than this one I would give you some slack but there just isn't. Owners can't help but be bullies especially in a pack like they are where politics/affiliations and egos rule. Peace.

Hostess isn't going bankrupt, they are just temporarily locking out twinkies until wellwood/byfuglien/ovechkin cave.

Does that mran he gets a lot of calls where guys ramble on too long and he's too busy to listen to this stuff? It just sounds Strange to me. Brief. My incredulous response was due to Geddy being labeled a Leafs fan. I took it straight.
