the point is: Big Value to be had on Bodog / Bovada!!

By the way, No is up to -115 now. I don't think the value will last very long. If they something promising in press conference later today then I'm sure it will move eventually.

Not a big deal even then however. The max they let you win is $50. So right now you can bet $58 to win $50. Tomorrow the same bet might be $75 to win $50. Great value either way.

They've taken the bet off the board. Maybe waiting for public press conferece or something. Maybe it goes back up tonight or tomorrow at worse odds but is still probably going to have value. I will be attempting to bet it again if they will let me.

ketter: they lost a season last time because the differences were quite stark. the players ended up losing a season and 24% of their current contracts. here they will lose at most 10% of their current contracts and half a season. even so, i think 5% is still a good number, but your posts have not been made in vain.
ok, so they need 9 owners to block a season? does phoenix count, or does bettman cast a vote for them?

Are they really going to be that divided on this anyway? (not sure what it was last time).

If they all kinda mostly mutually agree to a proposal I see it as a more likely scenario that they all pretty much get on board with it.

They all voted unanimously to approve the lockout according to Bettman back when it first started. And they can't really have a huge amount of in-fighting for this to work...similar to the players.

Basically, they all know that they aren't going to all get exactly the situation that they want. They compromise with each other...with Bettman helping organize that.

Would be really crazy and certainly entertaining if most owners AND the players reached a mutually agreed upon proposal...and then you had 9 owners all getting together to decide to block it. I just can't see that happening but maybe I'm way way wrong about that.

if in US you go to bovada.lv
I'm not really sure the best deposit methods there now. You might have to western union it or something if CC won't work.

So we had a one-day tournament today in Oakville that I couldn't attend, but my brother snapped this pic of some bums who don't have jobs right now, playing on one of the adjacent pads to them:

In the pic are Carlo Colaiacovo, Brad Boyes, Shawn Matthias and...you guessed it, the pride of Oakville himself, Steve Mason. Tom Kostopoulos and Johnny Mitchell were also out there today.

My brother said they were pretty rattled to find out the place was being used for a tournament, because they've purposely been trying to avoid publicity as to not drop a regrettable soundbite...although [redacted because a) it's important to remember that despite their proportional irrelevance to the league's superstars, their opinions might create a Canadian media firestorm, and b) it is inappropriate to use hyperbole in a comical setting itt; this lockout, much like the internet in general, is serious business]

Highlight of the day: apparently one of my brother's teammates kinda halfheartedly chirped Mason and asked him if he wanted to play in net for us to help him regain his confidence. After a couple of menacing glares, he quickly stfu and removed himself from the area.

during a lockout everyone cares what everyone thinks, one bad soundbite is a day's worth of articles for journalists with no stories

at least they aren't paying for ice time at an NHL rink

Wow. Could have actually enjoyed an opportunity to meet the guy and shake his hand and be a polite/normal person...but instead just heckled him. And fans complain about lack of interaction from the players and trying to get autographs, etc. Well...there's your reason why.

Bob: he was simply trying to end the lockout sooner by expressing his displeasure towards one of the ungrateful, greedy bastards who doesn't realize he should be begging his owner for the privilege to be paid anything to play a game for a living. i don't condone his actions, and i fully understand why a classy gentleman and scholar such as yourself is shocked and disgusted by his actions. these animals in Canada don't deserve hockey, really.

We've actually run into Mason before, actually right after his Calder year. He was a complete prick. The more pegs he gets knocked down, the better.

lol this thread is so on edge these days. Lighten up guys, ****.

Actually, I'm having a hard time thinking about current players I've met that were pleasant. Maybe it's just a situational thing; retired players in general are just far more agreeable.

Wendel Clark and Lanny McDonald were easily the two greatest guys in the world you could ever hope to meet.

I've seen and met so many players, AHL and NHL guys, who are just super-nice and awesome to fans as well as scrubs like me...as long as you are nice to them.

The number of players I have interacted with who I would think of as douches who I don't really like is probably about 15% or so.

The number of players who I truly like a lot and think are awesome guys is close to 50%.

There's definitely a reason why hockey players have a reputation of being the nicest of the four major sports. I don't know diddly about Mason. Maybe he's a total jerk all the time and deserved it. But that sure seemed like a pretty inappropriate interaction to me...and I'm not sure that him giving a look is really doing anything wrong. Given the circumstances, seems he handled himself well.

But overall, just surprised people think that's a cool thing to do I guess.

Bob, I wasn't there and I didn't say it was the cool thing to do, but I did think it was funny, and knowing what I already know about him, I had a good, hearty laugh.

Also, I have a version of the coat Keenan's wearing in the photo, except it's red. Same crest and design though. Passed down from the family in Chicago. I love it and still wear it occasionally.
