Gretzky is pretty good behind the net but I don't think that play will work throughout his career. I think people will learn how to defend that play from behind the net since he's only a second year player and the veteran dmen will learn how to properly defend it.

Holy **** Oilers score again 8-5!!

He'll never win a cup until he is traded to an American team.

Smart.

I was just trying to get across the fact that just because two parties are involved doesn't imply a 50/50 split is a fair or logical.

Geddy I assume what T meant by money being funneled is that wealth disparity is increasing, the very rich are getting even richer, to an extent where they might not care how much it costs.

In a poker analogy, wealth ranges are increasingly polarized.

Instead of having alot of rich people who are rich, but not rich enough to afford taking huge loses, going forward you will have fewer rich people but whom will be in a financial position to take those hits willingly for the sake of winning rangz/personal fame and being able to afford it.

yes thank you vomit, that is what i meant. now i don't believe that this is the basis for a 'stable' sports league, or the NHL, but i bet it continues to work for the premier league. if the world economy collapses, it will not continue to work, but neither will a lot of other things.

Wow, he's so good!

That's Joe Thornton on the ice for Davos during that goal, right? lol Couture > Thornton

EDIT: Looks like Couture's team is shorthanded too, such HEART to come up with a big goal there

Ok, but let's not trivialize the labor here with the analogy to someone running errands.

Also, most people don't realize this but for every guy getting the top dollar, there are thousands who committed just as much of their life to the sport as they did but failed somewhere along the way. That big parise contract or weber contract or kovalchuk contract is going to be paid in the future, but they earned it through 15-20 years of work riddled with pitfalls. For an owner to offer that contract and then pretty much retroactively rollback the money for something these guys already did during their youth/junior/minors/ELC years, is incredibly insulting.

It'd be nice to share the wealth with all the hockey players who could have made it but didn't, but that's not how a free market works. Still that doesn't mean the guys at the top deserve a haircut to the tune of 24%.

Yes that's Thornton behind him, learning a thing or two.

Speaking of heart, he's really showing a LOT. During the game he got an assist by blocking a shot which led to a break away and another shorthanded goal..

While Nash, Thornton, Seguin, Spezza etc are just more or less doing the job for their lockout club, Couture is really giving 100%. The reason our coach wanted him in the first place and not an even bigger name was exactly because he thought Couture would give everything and not just stay in shape waiting for NHL to resume.

AORN we're trying to find a way, legal or not, to prevent him to leave Geneva.

We were thinking more like finding him a local girl, burn his passport or have him followed by a club employee and kept away from the airport. The only players that could potentially not want to go back to NA are some of the KHL's Russians imo

Bribe him with lots of chocolate and watches, imo.

My knowledge of Switzerland is clearly limited.

Well, at least you're not mistaken us with Sweden. That's something. Hockey followers are probably better than the american's average joe at making the difference though

Canada doesn't care you are neutral. It will yell at you impolitely over a lot less dirty tricks than that.

Datsyuk line with both radulovs might be a better line than datsyuk-a.radulov-grabovsky. But they are both pretty ****ing good. Right up there with kovy-tarasenko-tikhonov and OV-backstrom-gunge.
