Why are so many players getting $6+ million coming off their ELCs?

Awesome idea. Saturday is going to consist of tweeting the 500 twitter accounts off cap geeks twitter list as well as any celebrities who like hockey.

This is going to work.

Birchwood is the only place I can get my car fixed. I don't see much else I've used. I can avoid SoundCloud and Rexall pretty easily.

You could break apart Thomson Corp and some of the other investment companies, although it would be a bit heavy handed on that one owner.

I don't know if you need to target all owners or just those who are an impediment.

My opinion on the Eberle signing:

My opinion on the people saying the signing is bad:

I think Edmonton is counting on salary rollbacks. Here take this $6m and after the CBA, it'll only be $5m

Re: NHL Offseason 2012 Thread

May 21 (Bloomberg) -- Bain Capital LLC, the buyout firm whose managing director owns a stake in basketball's Boston Celtics, increased its bid for the National Hockey League by at least $500 million to more than $4 billion, people familiar with the proposal said.

I can't see this happening. All owners have to agree to sale. Would also be a huge debate over how much each team receives. Would also make the NHL lame.

Salaries would go down with all the bargaining power being on the owner's side.

Bettman says no proposal came from PA today.

Fehr says league wasn't "receptive" to proposal.

Whatever, talks over for the day, nothing further scheduled.
