For the Russian question, are you saying they had to be born in the USSR, or that any Azerbaijanis born after the breakup of the USSR also qualify?

The wording for question 7 should read something like: 'Name a Canadian-born player who was the captain of a Stanley Cup winning team, post-2005' Just for clarification - pretty sure the wording as it is clear.

i bet the writer of that book's name is bob smith but they were like 'no one will buy a book about hockey written by bob smith, change your name to something more hockey like paul romanuk'

HAHAHA, YES! Scholastic book fairs FTMFW

So it would always operate as a two-day thing; on day 1, you'd get out of class, look at the selection and think about what you'd want to get. Then you'd go home, ask mom and dad for some skrilla and make the purchase on day 2.

I think I was around 8 when this happened, but I remember finding a book I wanted - hell, it probably was one of Paul Romanuk's Hockey Superstars books - and I got $5 from my parents to get it the next day. Well, I show up the next day and it's no longer there. So clearly, intent on making sure I didn't waste my $5, I promptly bought the next hockey related item I found...

A massive Mike Richter poster.

My parents lost it. Tried to use the example to teach me the idea that you don't spend money just because you can. I'll never forget my interaction with pops that day when he came home from work..."YOU DON'T EVEN LIKE THE RANGERS, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!" Mom got in touch with the good folks at Scholastic and got my money back for returning the poster. lol ethnic parents. That was my version of Le Chandail De Hockey.

Thought Romanuk's living in Switzerland? Could be wrong ldo, pretty sure his wife's from over there though so he just stayed in Europe.

And Paul Romanuk is probably still my 2nd favourite call of all time, only behind Bob Cole. Romanuk's WJC calls back in the day were just pure magic.
