Dear God, did this thread ever need this kind of trade. Love the divided opinions. I think it's a fair trade for both teams.

In a pure hockey vacuum, Howson did well. In a season where they might not win more than 30 games again and they need to give people a reason to look forward to the future, but they drafted a non-flashy (albeit solid) defenceman at 2nd overall and they didn't get Chris Kreider included in this package...

Also, Nash gonna bag 40+ next season, book it. I don't really care/not really sure if this makes the Rangers a better team overall but I do think this sets Nash up for a bit of a statistical resurgence.

re: fatigue
4 lines good, 3 lines bad.
One of the big changes DSutter made in the LAK turnaround was taking PK minutes away from the top 6, and giving the 4th line consistent minutes. Players like Brown and Kopitar lost some minutes, but played better in the minutes they had.

And JCarter was playing wing, not center.

Lockout aside, betting on anyone besides like, Stamkos, to score 40 is a fool's errand. The Rangers have an AIDS power play, so that doesn't help all that much. I am curious what happens to Nash's shot rate, though.

Solid move Nashville. Rinne + Weber is a solid core to build around for the next decade.

It's so much fun to listen to sports reporters who say authoritatively this or that, and are always wrong, then pick themselves up to give their **** opinion on the next thing.

meh given that weber was kind of a flyer for a week, cwice just picked up a 5th favorite team - he'll get a preds avatar if they go deep into the playoffs
