The reason is, last time it happened we got to see Nash, Thornton and many more NHL stars playing for our teams which was the most awesome thing ever.
I'm a little worried though because in our league the clubs are only allowed to have 4 foreigners in their ice line-up at a time, and afaik my club's shopping is pretty much done for this year..
thoughts? Also inb4 50/50, either it happens or it doesn't
The NHL will lock out but I don't think many players will be playing in foreign leagues, because I don't think anyone believes that they will miss a full season.

There will be a work stoppage because the league has definitely learned from the previous two work stoppages that the fans come back. NHL revenues are way up from where they were in 2004, the TV contracts are locked in, what incentive is there NOT to lock out the players if it means squeezing out a better CBA?
The NBA is also not a joke, nor do I consider it a real competitor with the NHL.
