Moulson was let go for absolutely nothing. Boyle, whatever, teams lose guys like that all the time, sometimes a player just isn't envisioned in a particular role and he can't end up there. Purcell was given the best chance. But Moulson played really well in the AHL and had solid boxcars in the NHL - no idea why he wasn't given more of a chance.

Plus for every 1 of those, there is a Frolov, Segal, O'Sullivan who left and did nothing, you can't hold on to every player
I don't think anyone thought Segal was good, and O'Sullivan got you Williams. You can't hold on to every player, but not being able to use Moulson is a mistake.

Moulson, purcell. both offensive skill guys who were expected to score in tmurray's defense first, defense second, offense if-it-happens-it-happens, system. little wonder they "didn't perform".

the list of players who withered offensively under tmurray is extensive.
Kangz to be one of the top 5 offensive teams this year.

I don't think that Purcell's contract is unreasonable

Re: NHL Offseason 2012 Thread

NHL.com article about Rick Nash still has the Bruins as a potential landing spot haha. I just can't imagine given the Bruins cap situation and Chiarelli's steadfast support of this core that it has any chance of happening.

Quote:
Who could go: According to Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com, the names on Howson's want list include Lucic, Seguin and top defensive prospect Dougie Hamilton. Seguin and Hamilton are likely non-starters for Chiarelli.
Towson is high if he thinks any deal would include Seguin. Lucic+Hamilton (+TT to make the cap #'s work) is conceivable but I'd be against it. I'm pretty anxious to see what Hamilton can become after years of Wideman, KaberlAIDS and Corvo as our puck moving d-men.

Also, the Sabres weren't on the list of 6 possible teams for Nash. I thought they were in the running and making a strong push, no longer true I guess?

He was going to be UFA next year too, we were just one season away from Rat begging him to take a hometown discount.

Vlasic tempted to test UFA market? "To me, unrestricted means you’re not sure what’s going to happen. I’m very happy I’m with the Sharks."

It's July 11th and 30 degrees outside.

There were 3 trades in my fantasy hockey keeper league today.
