So the owners came in with compromise on 'Make whole', and 5/7 on contract length, and wanted an instant agreement.
Hypothesis confirmed.

Why all the season lost talk? Still have all of December to negotiate.
Looks like this was just one of the points where owners lost money. First was winter classic, next was this 3/4 season for full sponsor money. What's the next cutoff point where owners actually lose dollars?

Ya if the season doesn't get started, one side or the other (read: owners) is intentionally tanking for a completely separate reason.

Also interesting that Glendale voted to keep Phoenix(or whatever happened there), and then all of a sudden talks get positive.

no. i mean yeah people like redden won't get their money back, but there are a lot of guys who would make their money back and get to play with a team of their choosing.

TSN comments have been interesting the last couple of months. Most people I talk to are anti both parties but in general more sympathetic to the players this lockout. TSN comments are overwhelmingly against the players.

Not that I've ever had much respect for the people that write TSN comments.
