10 minutes, 5 bowls of ramen noodles each. first one to finish without throwing up wins.
If this happens, I hereby challenge Geddy to a skills competition consisting of both golf and ice hockey to be held somewhere between here and Toronto, videotaped by Whitegoose, and officiated* by The Rat.

Better to have Whitegoose doing the playbyplay IMO.

When salaries paid out have gone up so much how the **** can't you make a deal.

Fehr convinced them less then 57% was giving something back...Fehr should have put the whole thing in context but either way everyone is making more money then before...

Not making a deal before this season started is like the titanic sinking...that big of **** up...fire them both...
The NHL's goal was either to lock the players out or get a totally sweetheart deal. They did not have any interest in meeting in the middle. And that's the critical issue - the NHL has to recognize that for a deal to be made, they have to give the NHLPA *something* other than the right to go work for less while the owners make more.

Also there's the whole issue of the NHL's revenue sharing and salary cap/floor system being totally messed up but no one seems to want to address that.

I think this is spot on. And also the reason why I am not as confident as some others that there will be a season.

what percentage of revenue do you think Bikini Hockey League players get?

either number will work, hockey-related revenue or bikini-related revenue.

Re: revenue sharing

Most leagues share tv revenue.
The nhl has little national revenue to share, why don't they share local revenue? Say 25% of local tv revenue goes into the pot and all teams share equally. Adjust percentage as desired.

I admit the NHL is unfair.
I admit the NHL is greedy.
I admit the owners are getting super rich.
I admit the NHL is dumb enough to risk everything.

I would also much rather make an unfair deal where I get 2 million then a fair deal where I get 1.5 million.

Fehr should have said "The best thing for the players do is make an unfair deal at the start."

If this happens, there's a good chance it'll become the greatest moment in 2p2 SE history.

But you don't get 2 million. Fehr should not have said that because neither he nor anyone believes that. The NHL's best deal has yet to come. Yes, the players probably lose dollars too, but so did the league. Both sides got hurt instead of just one.

No the players knew this would happen so they hired Fehr. Fehr is powerful but he can't lock the owners doors now can he... Why is this so difficult for this thread to realize?

I liked your story about discussing math problems Sylar. I studied math in college, and had one of the most Russian math professors ever (Vasily Dolgushev represent), and he told similar stories. It seemed so foreign to me, and it was something that I wish I experienced growing up as a little math nerd.
I think I've made this same point in this thread, or the reg season (lol what's that?) one- Russians as a people are some of the hardest people in the world. Drinking a certain grade of brake fluid to get drunk and whatnot. The whole culture seems born from hardship which is why the soft Russian hockey player stereotype is so peculiar to me. Just a fascinating place...
