Yesterday the missed their third paycheck. I didn't think it would go to a fourth. If they are like so many athletes that cant manage their money they will be hurting cash wise soon.

half the players are playing somewhere else, they're not making NHL money where they're at but cash is coming in

no doubt some players are broke but in any union people are going to be broke

Grind, that's very interesting, isn't it.

The Jets were reported to have lost money as well, but they also didn't qualify for revenue sharing because they were in the top half.

So either they are playing with fiscal year-end dates or they move money around the sister companies rather liberally.

too bad those who are not playing and can't afford to be missing paychecks are not the majority of the union, and their interests are not really looked at in these negotiations at all.

Dreger still confirmed massive league shill / toolbag

accidentally watched like 2 minutes of him on TV today, he was on some rant about how once the lockout is over Ian White will probably have to go around and beg Babcock, Holland, Ilitch, veteran players, etc, etc, etc for forgiveness bc he called Bettman an idiot.

yeah, cause any of them care about that. and even if they did, like that's gonna happen...

lol Dreger retweeted Clowe's butthurt tweet about "I didn't see you asking Jimmy D for an apology after calling us cattle." Problem is, one was true and one wasn't, and Bettman's far from an idiot, so the math ain't hard.

Dreger probably wants a job in the NHL with Bettman and the likes so he is kissing ass. He probably has a crush on one of the NHL execs

Bettman's probably not an idiot, but the game would be a million times better off if weasels like him weren't involved

which day of law school do they cover the part where all you guys gotta stick together, no matter what?

Unless you're a post-hacking replacement account, I'm guessing you're new here. I've been anything but a Bettman fanboy itt. His southern expansion legacy is a sham. His public derision of the Atlanta relocation to Winnipeg was insulting and pathetic. It bothers me that a non-hockey guy is the most public representation of the sport at the highest level.

But I'm also able to look at things objectively and I don't get sucked into small-minded "us vs. them" narratives, because there is no "us" and both the PA and owners combine to form "them." I have no horse in this race because they both suck; however, it's far easier to lol @ the side that hired a notorious season-killer and launched a social media campaign for these negotiations, despite claiming they don't want this standoff and it's the owners who are being unreasonable.

Adorable. I'm in an MBA program.

btw Whitegoose, since you think that was so funny and you love sticking it to The Man, why don't you dedicate the rest of your weekend to helping with one of the countless union strikes in our province that crippled our manufacturing and service sectors and pushed us towards receiving equalization payments from ****ing Newfoundland?

If you guys continue with this narrative, I'm going to assume you're the same clowns I laugh at in men's league every night when they wanna tilly, probably in the hopes that breaking their hand will allow them to stay at home and claim worker's comp. Seriously, it's getting really ****ing old.
