So talks have broken off. What does this mea? Is this an expected event on the road to an eventual settlement and the likelyhood of seeing some hockey this season is still 95%. Or have the odds of losing a whole season risen?
lol @ u

yes there is still a 95% chance. alert me when this is how talks are going in january

Ya, I feel pretty good about a deal getting done in the next 3-5 weeks. I imagine that's when the rank and file pressure Fehr to just make the best possible deal already. Some sort of 55-60 game season is going to be lame, but if they blow a whole season, the PA is way dumber and more stubborn than I thought.

Yeah, because clearly I'm the guy who has his priorities out of line here.

I literally bleed this sport but I've got better things to do than waste my time worrying about 3% of HRR, or pretending I have a stake in any of this. They're not "stealing" anything from me. Come on, we're not 10 years old here.

I guarantee if the Calgary Flames were going to be any good this year, Geddy would be a lot more bitter about the loss of the season

20 games are gone. Did you spend them?

Let me know when it hurts you.

I haven't watched a hockey game all year. As far as I'm concerned the NHL is a bunch of babies similar to what Geddy said awhile ago ITT. I'll probably start to feel it when I'm not at the Flyers game with my Dad on Black Friday as per tradition.

nothing that has happened so far has been a legitimate surprise to me, besides the cancellation of the winter classic (which i didn't realize just how much lead time there has to be for it). it will be surprising if the next round of serious talks don't lead to an agreement.

I'm not really jonesing for watching hockey, tbh. Looking forward to the WJC this year though, which is unusual for me. The parity in that tournament at the top end is definitely back and the storylines are going to be fantastic.

Agreed I have no sympathy for the players. I hope the owners hold tight. Imagine any other entity were the employees say I want 1/2 your revenue.

ITT, short-sighted comments from one side deserve an equally foolish riposte from the other.

I don't hold it against anyone because I don't think we're really ourselves right now, not to mention we've established a pretty high standard when everything's normal, but the posting during the lockout has really sucked.

hmm, yeah i'm not too interested in the WJ's yet

would like some NHL hockey tho, but like you said i'm gonna do my best not to give them a dime this year. if they're getting value from me seeing commercials on TV, then w/e. congrats! pretty sour about the whole thing really...

People against the players are foolish. The players should get at least 99% of the revenue. You don't go to a strip club to pay the owner. You go to watch the ladies. Without the ladies, the strip club is nothing. Would you really pay $8 for a Coors Light if there weren't naked women dancing around?

If you are against the players are for the owners, I'm just going to assume you will pay $8 for a Coors Light to have a chat with a strip club owner and see no titties. Wow what's wrong with you people?

People would still pay $8 for Coors Lights if you took away all the 10/10 strippers and replaced them with 8/10 ones.

Canada is still way better than everyone else, like they are every year, although I suppose their goaltending is a possible weak point.
