Just so everyone knows my current stance, I'm taking 100% of the credit when the NHL announces a return in the next week or two.

I haven't had any Molson products and I went out of my way to spend more money at The Apple Store so as not to go to Walmart.

Thanks TJay.

Why no talk of the two most eligible free agents to hit the market? WG, I can't believe I scooped you to this story.

I can get behind this directive. Hope there are many national interviews with you as you stake your claim as the responsible party.

Can we put all the blame on you if it doesn't return though? Seems fair.

So I was at the local gas station trying to get a redbull fast before my bus comes by (in a few minutes). Infront of the line just happens to be Paul Coffey, guy has to wait in line for a few minutes to ask the attendant to turn on the gas pump for his suv.

lol gas noob

And because of him I missed my bus by about 30seconds

What happened on that hit? The back of Cote's helmut hit Geoffrion's head?

Montreal Gazzette says Cote's skate appears to hit Geoffrion's head. I don't know.

That reverse camera looks like head hits ice.

Didn't you know that WG had moved on from Selena (the fool) and on to the more current and trendy "TS". It was bound to happen eventually. (cwutididthere)

OK some hockey then. Abottsford vs OKC is just starting. 7k fans not bad. What is going on here?

LOL at these comments after last night's 4-0 loss to Abbford. How do they get to play anyway? 2 way contracts still or age?

As much as the Barons are a draw off the ice, they’ve been struggling on it. Coming in, they were off to a 5-4-0-1 start, sitting eighth in the standings. They’d scored 31 and given up 31. Turns out, you can’t skill your way up the AHL standings. Stars don’t equate to wins in a league that has an abundance of grinding, especially in Abbotsford. “It’s a little different, it took me a few games to get used to it,” Eberle said. “It’s a little more chip and chase. You got to work for what you get. But saying that, I think we have enough skill on our team where we are able to make plays.

“It’s definitely been a little bit of an adjustment.”

you mean all the NHL guys?

if so yeah, age/contract bc they're on entry-level deals which allow them to play in the AHL without being subject to waivers, etc.

WELL ONE OF THEM IS LEADING THE AHL SCORING AND ONE IS NOT.

YES THANKS. JUST FUNNY TO SEE A GUY LIKE HALL PLAYING IN THE AHL WHEN OTHERWISE HE MIGHT NEVER PLAY A GAME IN HIS CAREER.

The rules on which nhl guys were eligible to be shipped to the ahl are kind of complicated but yes, it is an age or games played thing. Some guys barely eligible so they were assigned to the ahl the day before the lockout and thus are technically not locked out...others are barely not eligible so off to Europe or wherever for them.

This was the same in 04-05. Quite a few guys in the ahl who never would have touched it. Jason spezza had a big season. The all star game had crazy talent that year.

But still, 88% of NHL players have played in the AHL. So it is really only the Crosby and Ovechkin types who never come through the league at least for a few games. That stat is surprising to some people. And obviously it will be a little higher now with a few more nhl guys than typical getting ahl time this year.
