Part of the reason of signing eberle to a deal like that isnt optimal is partially the timing - whats the risk of waiting until the end of next year and gather more evidence? Or, in the unfortunate case he has a serious injury next year, then they would save money that way.

looking up salaries, i was surprised to find that its around ~50th or so in the league, so maybe it doesnt seem as bad as i originally thought. On the flip side, he shot 18.9% last year, which surely isnt sustainable.

The risk is that he could also have a 120 point season and get offer sheeted by 29 teams.

Australia trolling the NHL. Somehow this #AIHLFinals is trending #1 in Canada right now. Guess a lot of drunk Canadians are coming home right now and streaming this.

You pretty much nailed it. Not a bad game. That rink is bizarre. The corners look like 90 degree angles or something weird.

I like the list nut, and you get bonus points for not choosing game 7 against the Leafs in 93 as the game. Fight is ldo this one though.

Lol Ducks indeed. Announcer Brian Hayward, and arena trend of visiting fans. Yup. I saw a group of about 100 Canucks fans singing Oh Canada outside the stadium last time I was at a game in Anaheim.

How's the hockey? When is it on?

"No mobile compatible stream."

I think they are 14 hours ahead of EST. 2:00am in NY = 4:00pm there, 5:00am in NY = 7:00pm there.

Semi-final Sat, Sep. 1, 3:30P (1:30am)
Semi-final Sat, Sep. 1, 7:00P (5:00am)
Final Sun, Sep. 2, 4:00P (2:00am)

Ha this is so true. And all the Staples security guys are in bright red jackets, so every time we play Detroit they just blend in with half the lower bowl.

Dion Phaneuf and Elisha Cuthbert are now engaged. Best off-season acquisition for the Leafs in a long time.

For your viewing pleasure

Landeskog becomes the youngest captain in NHL history.

Good for him, the kid is a beast.

if the rangers are as close to the cup as they think they are, 24/4 for doan is a solid deal

yeah $24m/6 for Doan doesn't seem that bad (relative to the UFA world) considering he was supposedly asking for and getting offers for 5 years, and maybe up to $7.5m/per or whatever
