HF delivers yet again:

I'm banned from HF but I freely admit I still browse there. Besides the posters there all being 17, my biggest gripe is the threads they allow TIME AFTER TIME AFTER TIME. Such as:

top 5 announcers
top 10 dmen (repeat for forwards and goalies)
underrated/overrated
underpaid/overpaid
make a team from players from your state

etc.

I don't see them resigning Cleary unless he comes cheap cheap. Filppula will depend on the year that he has.

Don't forget that there are some kids down in Grand Rapids that can flat out play the game. A lot of them weren't quite physically ready this year, but given time between the two clubs in 2012 should be more than ready by 2013 to play the game.
Howard will get paid by the WANGZ because they won't have a goddamn choice. But it won't matter because they have tons and tons of cap room. I do think the WANGZ aren't going to be a Cup favorite in the near future unless one of these minor leaguers becomes a superstar, but they still figure to be a playoff team.

I hadn't been following the FA markets - took a look today and it appears that with Lidstrom's departure, the Wings have decided to abandon any shot at the Cup for the immediate future.

No Suter, no Parise, but they signed Samuelsson?? Tootoo??

The offense should still be decent, but the defense is going to be very, very questionable. I have no idea who they are going to sign (the FA field looks quite weak); maybe they think that at least 2 of Kindle/Smith/Quincy will become top-4 quality D-men, and soon. Howard will have to continue last year's level of performance, or better, if they even want to make the playoffs.

Very, very disappointing.

RE: WANGZ

kinda agree with Triumph irt to jimmeh and needing one of the kids in GR to turn into a star. I do think that Smith can be the guy defensively, kid is going to be really good, said it before but he should have been in the league all of last season. Nyquist or Tatar dominate onetimeplz.

B. Smith will be good but man they are in super deep trouble if they're relying on him to fill the void in the blue line

Sharks re-sign Galiardi for 1 yr/$950k. Meanwhile, Daniel "ALL I DO IS WIN"nik still does not have a home as Doug Wilson sits by idly.

Somebody's gotta pay to keep those university tuition rates the lowest in the country by a ridiculous margin.

Also, on my way to O'Hare, I'll do my best to get a TR up tomorrow.

We almost snuck into Soldier Field today but we got caught at the last second. Alas, twas not to be. Some good moments though, I'll do my best to write up to my standard.

They've basically already said they're moving on (not re-signing Winnik). Yes, it's ******ed to let him go.
