Stop raining on our parade. We are markedly better than yesterday, which as a fan is pretty much all that matters.

I like these players, but Minnesota is still starting from being the worst team in the league. Adding Parise and Suter to that makes them a possible playoff team, and if Granlund and Brodin are good down the road, it makes them a likely playoff team. It's still going to take more to make this into a Cup contender.

Dude, I'm not. The other guys are.

I think Minnesota's going to be quite good next year and I'll gladly take the abuse here along with you guys in stating that opinion.

i'm not so sure that Granlund is going to be a very good even strength player right away. he looks really skilled, but he's pretty small and might possibly lose battles to pretty much everyone right away. they'll def have to shelter him, and he could be a factor on the PP tho.

After what I saw from him in the last two WC's (after chirping the WC's only a few posts ago, lol) and what I saw at the WJC's this year, I'm convinced he's going to be a very special player.

For all the talk about the usual suspects heading into the tournament, Granlund was by far and away the best player at the WJC's and almost singlehandedly brought a very average Finnish team to the gold medal game. Easily the most pro-ready player I saw at that tournament. I'm a believer.

Holmfries: congrats. I'm rooting for your wild, though not for their bloggers who have no ****ing clue what they're talking about.

I wish you the best of luck in the coming business year.

Geddy endorsing the Wild means their goalie will have a career season and Granlund will save their second line a la Hagelin.

Plan the WCF parade.

Speaking as someone who's a diehard fan of a franchise that was a media darling for all of 3 months in 2004, it's not fun to always get **** on. Actually, believe it or not, it gets really, really old. Eventually, you just lose it. I can kinda empathize with the more vocal defenders of the Wild in that respect, although I understand arguing against illogical viewpoints is tiring.

My gripe is a little bit different. No one needs to tell me the Wideman and Hudler contracts are overpayments but I actually can't go on Twitter anymore without wanting to throw my laptop at a wall. I get it, my team is in a big hole but ffs, we haven't even started the season yet and it's apparently already a write-off. I have no clue how a team with a $66 mil payroll is the frontrunner in the Nathan MacKinnon sweepstakes but apparently we are...

You only need to look at someone like Steve Dangle's body of work over the last week to see why I get fed up. This is a guy who's pretty revered right now in the online community and he's got a pretty significant following and he just can't help himself but to pile on. About 80% of his tweets over the last week have been about how stupid the Flames are. Parise and Suter sign today and he immediately tweets about the Flames: "Wideman and Hudler just realized they're in the same division as Parise and Suter" wtf does that have to do with anything? Puck Daddy, same thing. Ryan Lambert, same thing. No talk about how Cervenka might adjust, how a full season of Cammalleri might play out, how Baertschi's the most exciting rookie we've had since Phaneuf and Iginla before that...nope, just about how much we suck and how much we should be chastized and crucified. It's just beyond excessive at this point.

I agree and I think a lot of people will be surprised when Calgary's in the mix for the playoffs. Are they good? Not particularly, but they are not terrible.

Hey, Bob from White Plains here, even though it's July I wanted to talk a little Rangers? Yeah, okay, so what's the deal with Parise and Suter, you know, signing in Minnesota, I never even heard that Sather's talking to these guys. We all know the Rangers are close to winning it all, he's not even talking to them? I don't get it. They want Nash over those guys? They would come as a package deal, trade Gaborik, trade Dubinsky, sign Parise and Suter. I know Minnesota offered a lot of money, but New York offers the biggest stage in the world and a team with TRADITION. I just don't get why they didn't make an offer, wanted to hear your thoughts, I'll hang up and listen.

Caps have so much cap space. I dont see why the red wings would be more likely than the Caps, unless Babcock reaches out and promises not to treat him like a red headed step child like Hunter

STRF, Parise said before July 1 that if he did leave NJ, he would definitely not go to the Rangers because of how insulting that would be to the Devils franchise and its fans. Don't know about Suter.

They aren't in the same division. That guy's useless.

Oh crap they are in that division. They need realignment immediately.

Would have to imagine that Howson has got to be loving today's developments. Probably can milk a little more out of disappointed DET/PIT if he wants to deal Nash to either. As a Wings fan, I have my doubts of Howson letting him go in division, but we'll see.

Still kinda reeling that we couldn't get Suter. Seemed like a slam dunk for weeks now.
